12 Volt supply or charger for truckcamper

Thanks for the replies. I’m not sure or I will go for the ctek. And I will need a European brand for warranty and service, and because of the 230v power over here. Tomorrow I’m near a Victron dealer. Think I ask those guys what to do. Buying a 300 euro charger that is way overkill isn’t that...

    Uro-Camper? anyone have?

Yes, they come from spain. Their builds are really awesome. On the abenteuer und allrad exhibition in Germany I saw one of their campers, and it is really impressive. You should check their facebook, Flickr or Instagram accounts.

12 Volt supply or charger for truckcamper

In my shadowcruiser there is an old converter installed where you can switch between battery and 230-12V converter. I don't really trust the thing because it's making strange noise and it is heating up. Besides that it doesn't charge the batteries, so it only works when you're at shore power...

    Renault TRM2000

Does anyone know the vehicles? Looks like a low-budget Unimog, built by the french. Few weeks back I was in Surinam and saw a lot of these trucks. They look quite basic and they have portal axles! Locals use them to supply the small mine sites in the middle of the jungle. Should be a nice base...

First Trip in an Overland Explorer Camp X

Does someone know what the material of the softsides is called and where to find it? On the site and the forum I found that it is used in tents for the army ,but I can't find the name of this type of material. Because the material of my shadowcruiser is a little bit worn out at some places I'm...

Best Pop Up Truck Camper for Winter Use

What kind of material is used as sidewalls of the overlandex pop up? It looks very different than the material used in the FWC and ATC campers, and very different than the material used in European pop-ups. And is there a kind of elastic rope used to keep it tight for windy conditions and for...

The Tacobox Build - A Mini Baja Surf Camper

That's not too bad indeed, in Holland we go kiting with at least 5/4, hood, gloves, shoes etc. Water temperature is 4 degrees Celcius at the moment  Preventing the roof to go down is a real good idea, especially in winter the gas struts can collapse all of sudden is my experience... How...

The Tacobox Build - A Mini Baja Surf Camper

Very nice build! Compact and low profile, looks perfect! Is the tent sturdy enough for high winds? There could be a lot of wind when going to shore I guess! But with the side towards the wind, the roof looks like a good wind guard. Do you have a heater and boiler as well? I can imagine that it...

    Globe Camper or Bimobil

In spain there is a builder, called Uro camper. On the abenteuer und allrad exhebition 2016 I saw their explora camper, and it is really impressive. I like it more than the Bimobil units. On facebook and Flickr they place lots of pictures, you definitely should check it out! www.uro-camper.com

Meet the Trot'n Turtle - Unimog U1300L Build

Wow nice color! I think it will look very cool with the bumper, ladders, roofrack etc. installed! In Holland there are a lot of Unimogs for sale at the moment. And for some reason there are a lot of ex-fire trucks for sale. U2150, U1300 DoKa etc...

Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 CrewCab Expedition Build in Canada

That really sucks... I used to work with heavy equipment that was shipped to US, Canada and Australia. It's very hard to clean it for 100%, but with enough patience and motivation it is possible! When you can see the dirt from a distance, you know for sure that they send it back... Is you truck...

Meet the Trot'n Turtle - Unimog U1300L Build

The original Isringhausen seats are great, in my opinion even better than the air suspended seats in most new trucks! I had one in my U1000, and the only problem was that the springs started squeeking after a while :ylsmoke: Good choice to place the new seats on the original base! With the...

    Camper and Truck Photos

Here some pics of my 'new to me' shadowcruiser. I'm planning to make a subframe between the landcruiser chassis and the camper with room for a LPG tank, watertanks and batteries. I want to make a kind of flatbed so I can make storage on both sides.

    Shadowcruiser tips and advice

Yes I already bought it, but thanks for the confirmation about the quality! It is a '96 and previous owners were an old couple, about 70 years old. They went often to southern Europe during summer, and maintained the unit very well. You can't notice any scratch or something. I haven't found any...

How do you deal with snow on the pop-up?

Isn't it an idea to pull a kind of canvas cover over the roof that covers the roof and the softsides? And then connect it to the mainbody with zips or buttons. It could work as insulation as well because there will be a closed space with air between the cover and the original softsides. In case...

How do you deal with snow on the pop-up?

Maybe you can mount something like this on the side of your roof: https://youtu.be/iWlVy2RsY60 Before you go skiing or boarding you pull the slab over your roof with a rope, and when you want to lower your roof just roll it.
