    Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx

Its been almost three years since I mounted up my first set of ST Maxxs on my Tundra and after 51,000 miles of work and fun I just put a new set on the truck. These treads have earned their place as my go to tire.

2014/15 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk vs 2015 Toyota 4Runner Trail edition

Really? Please don't let your love of a certain brand impair your judgement. They're just vehicles and should not become personifications of who you are. As a long time owner of both Toyotas and Jeeps and having lived in the winter wonderland of the Pennsylvanian Rust Belt, both brands have...

2006 Jeep Wrangler LJ Expo READY!!

When I sold mine I also thought it would go quickly but it ended up taking awhile for the right buyer to come along. After weeks of people trying to gouge me or not knowing the difference between a TJ and an LJ some guy drove all the way from Michigan to here in NW Pennsylvania and dropped the...

    JKU and Fleetwood Evolution E2

From experience those Evolutions are pretty tongue heavy. While I pulled mine with a Tundra and had no problem the gent that bought our EV1 towed it home with a 2dr JK. That Jeep's tuckus was hunkered down badly and I was real concerned he was even going to make it home. That being said the...

more evidence that the Wrangler may be in for a change

At least in my part of the country this statement is untrue. The vast majority of Wranglers (especially the Unlimiteds) are driven by women as daily drivers here in the snow belt. The Wrangler is considered a family car by most fslks in the areas where having four wheel drive is important just...

    Tales of the Grey Mouser...

Yeah the Tundra gets the call mostly for travel though we bought this awhile back for my wife's daily ride and to fulfill the Mouser's role in the Clanhold.... It's got the selectable rear locker and ATRAC, about the same clearance stock as the Mouse had with its lift, twice the gas mileage...

    Tales of the Grey Mouser...

As of a few days ago this tale came to and end. I sold the Mouser to a gent from Ohio and its no longer a part of the Clanhold. Last year I put less than a 1000 miles on the odometer and it was more often than not just collecting dust in the garage. It made little sense to keep paying...

Return to Bald Eagle State Forest - Victoria Day Weekend - May 2014

What??? No obligatory stop in Benezette to see the elk herd? Too many Mikes, too many Bryans, questionable marriage entanglements, a lost car and no elk vieiwng...I'm not sure if this is the start of a great tale or a prelude to disaster. ;) Welcome back to the Keystone State boys!

2 Kayaks on a 4th gen 4runner: Best way to carry?

Flat on the bars. No padding, as long as you don't store them long term strapped down (think weeks on end) there will be no issues. You should have no problems. Rail Grabbers. I bought mine used from a gentleman here on the Portal all 4 shipped from Alasksa for $60. I doubt with your...

2 Kayaks on a 4th gen 4runner: Best way to carry?

We use a set of Yakima Railgrabbers on the factory side rails and 58" load bars on the 4Runner and two 'yaks fit fine. Here's a pic.. Boats are a Native Ultimate 12 which is on the wide side for a 'yak and a Necky Sport 12 which is about average in width.
