Quick update. Just filled up and have a new datapoint. After over 600 mostly city miles I averaged 10.9 mpg. Not too bad due to how much in town driving this stretch had. Again this is in c4500 ambulance with 6.6L duramax diesel.

I'm thinking of using that for the solar panel. Many use the box for that. But, my box roof will be used for inflated rafts, rooftop bed, and the party deck. I'm planning to linex the roof so it's durable and non-skid. So the only place left for solar is over the cab.

Cool. Maybe I have that in mine too. I definitely some outlets, inverter, converter, etc in a closet there. Below that is the AC unit. But maybe behind that wall on the back side of the cabinet is where that is.

Where is that located in your rig? Or maybe where was it originally located :-)

Is this a solenoid? In some google searches it looks like it makes a connection when the green wire has power. This is what I'm planning on testing out to see if that puts power to the box.
