Overland Explorer Composite Off Road Trailer

We are just in the process of evaluating such a build. 14' long, 7' wide, and height TBD. We have had a lot of interest in that size of unit.

    F-650 Crew cab camper

$60K CAD today ($46K USD), or a cool trade for something smaller. That's the reserve set at auction and I have a little more than a month before it heads that direction. Moving on!

    F-650 Crew cab camper

Sorry for the late reply. I am building a 1 ton based rig, which will be done by next summer if time permits. Today it's $90K CAD or $68 500 USD. Alternatively I would separate the camper and subframe and sell the camper for $60K CAD or $45 500 USD. I thought i wouldn't drop any lower but I...

    F-650 Crew cab camper

Price drop $99 900 CAD or at today's exchange rate $77 000 USD. I found something I really want, not going down any lower, it will stay in the coral.

No reason you couldn't add another window, these are production units with one window, the construction doesn't limit that though. The cab over on the full size is 60", I haven't measured the roof on an extended cab. The midsized camper has a 48" in case anyone is wondering.

    Composite pop up project

The Camp is the mid sized (Tacoma) and the X is full size. A pass thru is as easy as cutting a hole and installing a window. Can be done to any model.

    F-650 Crew cab camper

There is a full queen east/west bed in the rear, this unit will sleep 6. The overhead was for a couple of kids. Tires are 11R22.5 on steel wheels. Commercially built.

    Composite pop up project

There is a pretty well laid plan in place and it's under way. We are just finishing the first small production run and it's going pretty good. We have a second run scheduled to start in 4 weeks. So far all of the demand is from the full size truck market, I expected to see more from the mid...

    Show your Thumper!!

My favorite way to travel 2015 KTM 690 Enduro, mostly stock, FMF pipe to get rid if the heavy stocker gets a little more rack capacity for the rotopax, Wolfman and Giant Loop bags that work. Love the bike, has enough power to handle the soft stuff nicely when loaded! Pics are Canadian Rockies...

    Composite pop up project

Thanks for the comments guys, it's a lot of work figuring out all the little details, and the production version is going to look a lot different, all for good reason! To answer some of the questions: The fabric is a waterproof cold rated coated canvas on the outside, a layer of insulation...

    Composite pop up project

Sides are on. I was a little concerned that they would have a little difficulty folding due to them basically being built like a sleeping bag, but so far so good. 3 renditions of hinge designs, and a tweak still needed to the last adjustment still required to be 100% but still really good and...

    Composite pop up project

The jury is really out for warmer climates, that has more to do with the soft sides than the rest of the construction, which will also show up in cold climate use. We have a couple of campers and trailers running around the southwest and only one got AC, the insulation value of the composite...

Another X10 leaving the shop today!

No this package is staying as is. There are some great pics of this truck in travel mode at https://www.facebook.com/Overland-Explorer-Expedition-Vehicles-1660136347574430/ which is where most of our updates are going due to busy schedules. There are pics of the 5500 on there as well.

    Composite pop up project

Thanks for the replies, and sorry for being slow with updates, going through a very busy time. Sometimes it's a good thing to take a break from a project and look at it over time with a few different eyes, and a few different perspectives. We ended up being able to fit a Dometic CFX65 dual zone...

    Composite pop up project

It might work fine, would really have to load one up and see how the center of balance works out, but a lot of truck campers hang out a foot, and I'm keeping the weight a little forward so it "should" be fine.

    Composite pop up project

Thanks Runt, we are doing the small pop up with soft sides, and the next thing to follow will be a full sized unit with hard sides, the little unit is dedicated to the small truck market and will be in production in 2018, this will be finished towards fall. The roof is going to be composite with...
