    Cnickgo 85 Yota Build

Sam, it's been too long. The yota was a better deal than any Jeep I was looking at out here in CA, and it's been fun learning something new. The Wildernest was a lucky grab, I've been wanting one forever! Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

    Cnickgo 85 Yota Build

Replaced a couple buckles on the headliner and did a "belly tuck" inspired by another post. I've got a 12x18 tarp on the way for the rain fly, waterproofing spray, poles for the exterior "stabilizers" and some aluminum replacement tent poles to serve as the missing fiberglass wands. The top...

Recommended lightweight, highly packable, "warm weather" sleeping bags?

Ive been running around with a Marmot Cloudbreak 30 synthetic. Packs down to a 6"ish ball, slightly less than 2lbs. It's actually been my main bag, I just supplement with a baselayer beanie, and dog heat below 40.

    Cnickgo 85 Yota Build

The cheap shell has been replaced with a cheap Wildernest. Known problems when purchasing were a missing rear glass and top hinges. Drove down to LA to pick it up. Bolted the shell down and got a couple hinges on in a Home Depot parking lot before hunger took over. When I first opened it up the...

No affiliation, wildernest shell in socal craigslist, great deal

Tent is pretty good. I found one abrasion hole that is small enough to patch. Mesh and zippers are good. Does need a strong cleaning. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

    Maybe a Toyota convert....from jeep

If the OP has been looking at buying an XJ, the additional maintenance probably isn't a big concern to him. As recent XJ to Toyota convert myself I'll throw a couple thoughts out... the 4Runner is a slightly more complicated beast. One of the appeals of the XJ is just how cheap and easy...

Anyone else running a roof top box?

http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/163389-Why-don-t-i-see-any-Thule-or-Yakima-boxes-on-Overland-rigs?highlight=roof+cargo+box Another thread not too long ago. Keep the load in the cargo box light and soft, to maximize using the irregular shaped space and avoid putting a lot of weight...

m10x1.25 8.8 bolts straight through the frame of the cap. The hardware is definitely not the concern to me, I'm pretty sure the cap would come apart before the hardware would fail, which is considerably likely when you look at the cap. I will be checking on it frequently to see how it holds for...

The truck didn't come with a radio of any sorts, only a half organized mess of two different installs left of wiring. As I have become spoiled with my touchscreen do it all radio/gps/dvd/blah blah in the F350, i wasn't very motivated to go back to a $90 basic head-unit, however the name of the...

    Cnickgo 85 Yota Build

So after getting the motor bolted up, I started working backwards. I sourced driveshaft bolts from the junkyard, fought the carrier bearing, got the rear shaft in the truck. I'm currently missing a front driveshaft, and the front and rear diffs have different gears (how I bought it, the PO...

    Cnickgo 85 Yota Build

Long overdue updates. First thing was putting the motor back together. I had almost no fasteners, so a call to 22RE Performance landed me with comprehensive fastener kits to get everything snugged up. The exhaust manifold went on without complaint contrary to common manifold stud issues. The...

    Cnickgo 85 Yota Build

A little background, I've had a handful of Jeeps, 95 YJ, 89 MJ, 88 MJ, 97 XJ, and most notably a 92 XJ. The 92 XJ transitioned from a DD to weekend warrior to trail rig, the rest of the Jeeps were DDs. Growing up on the East Coast I was mostly into crawling, but the DDs always took me camping...

E-Rated 285/75/16's too much tire for two-door JK?

E-loads are going to be a rougher ride for the JK. I bought my current MJ with a set on it. They won't flex as well when aired down with the added plies, loss of traction. I would pass on the Es and look for C/D.

Looking for a new medical kit

It's a perfect example of when "tactical" rarely translates well to everyday life. He built himself an IFAK. I think your suggestion goes for anyone, don't stock your kit above your current medical education. Providing an incorrect intervention could make a situation much worse. AMK offers the...
