Any tall people using the Skycamp series?

Thanks for the info on the Terrapod. I had skimmed that thread a long time ago but not really been following it. I do keep my truck in a garage, and currently I have an inch or so between the roof and the garage door; so anything over the cab is not really something I looking at right now. I...

Any tall people using the Skycamp series?

I have been using the iKamper XCover for years and in general I have been happy with it. I'm 6'2" and the diagram for the XCover shows the length in the sleeping direction to be 7'6". That seems big on paper but I have found that I normally end up sleeping cattycorner in the tent due to the...

    Continental Divide and Colorado BDR

I'm going to follow this one. Really hope your willing to keep posting details from your trip. I have done the NMBDR and then a year later parts of the CDT in northern NM. Now for me doing a border to border CDT is on my near term to do list. So been trying to gather intel and routes to put...

    Raptor Overlanding?

I really like the mirror lights; they are a wide beam and because the mount on the mirror they are naturally aimed outward. Most the trails near me in Texas are twisty and tight, so they really help me see in hairpin style turns. I can also fold my mirrors flat and then they aim out almost...

    Raptor Overlanding?

I have a 2014 and I love it. I've owned numerous light and heavy trucks and jeeps. But my Raptor has been my favorite for getting off grid to go play. I personally don't think there is one right answer for going exploring offroad but for me; I really think the Raptor is hard to beat when it...

    Camp Chef Mountaineer Stove

I lack patience sometimes so I just ordered from the Camp Chef website. I didn't spend too much time shopping around. I also wanted to grab the leg kit and the small propane tank adaptor. Some of the other resellers did not have all three things listed as available. But they were all on the...

    Down Comforters

I made this change for my RTT maybe 1.5 years ago. I ended up getting the comforter from Ikea. They did not have a rating per say but do list several offerings as "warm", "extra warm" and the like. I got the warmest version they offered and have used that many many times down to low 30s F...

    Camp Chef Mountaineer Stove

I'm not really much of a chef but we have been using a Coleman 424 however my wife was liking to idea of switching to propane. The Mountaineer recently came back into production so I went for it. I've only played around with it in the backyard but so far I'm really liking it. I have seen...

    Jeep Cherokee parts cleanout

I'm cleaning out some parts off a never ending Cherokee project I'm messing around with. All of the fuel system parts should fit the 1997 to 2001 Cherokees with the 4.0L engine. OEM poly fuel tank from a 1998 4.0L Cherokee. It was removed as I have swapped my Jeep to a fuel cell. The tank...

Jeep Hack and Tap slip yoke eliminator

I have a new hack-n-tap style slip yoke eliminator kit from Iron Rock offroad. It has never been installed. I bought it for a '98 XJ Cherokee but then later went a different direction for my transfer case. Details on the parts and Jeeps it can fit are on the Iron Rock webpage here...

    2000 XJ Cherokee Build

I just removed the side molding on my '98. I pulled the molding off that left some of the tape on the paint. I then used a 3m adhesive remover wheel (3M Stripe Off on Amazon) on my battery drill and it did a great job pulling the extra tape off the paint. Just another option.

Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the New Mexico Backcountry Discovery Route (NMBDR)

Thanks for posting up your reports. After your first post I have been wanting to do this trip and was toying with trying for a spring time trip. Any other feedback on finding the "right" time of year in order to get decent temperatures plus clear trails? I'll probably be running it solo and a...

    Truck Bed Storage Solutions

I have been using the Plano sportsman trunks for the last couple of years with good results. I got them at my local Academy, but I'm sure many places carry them. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/plano-storage-locker#repChildCatid=3516443 They stack, have wheels on one side, a sealing lid with a...
