    LiFePo packs in unusual shapes?

Hello, I'm building out the power system in my camper (Alu-Cab Canopy Camper on a Jeep Gladiator). And at the moment I'm getting frustrated that the offerings from the most prominent vendors are all shaped exactly like traditional car batteries. I've got a bunch of odd leftover spaces which...

An incident worth talking about. Kinetic Recovery Accident.

oof yeah, very educational. The trail looks even worse now as another 12 years of erosion have rutted it out more and more. I saw -30° on my own tilt gauge last fall, which can combine with a lot of roll if your line is wrong (like that vid). That's one situation where long wheelbase and rear...

An incident worth talking about. Kinetic Recovery Accident.

Just to clarify, Diablo Drop Off and Heart Attack Hill are two different obstacles on two different trails in Anza-Borrego. Diablo is NBD really, a little steep but I've watched stock vehicles with no lockers drive up it with a little coaching. It's fun. Heart Attack Hill on the Pinyon...

Better jack for a long travel suspension an Overlanding vehicle?

I carry a M998 HMMWV scissor jack. Big base plate for soft ground, dead simple, tons of travel, lovely geared head mechanism. Only thing it needs is a saddle adapter for the round pin head (designed to mate to holes in the HMMWV frame). I made one from a leaf spring axle saddle plate ($10?)...

Hardsider wedge camper out of Ohio

Instagram seems to be where they're actually active. From this post it looks like the frame is all bolted extrusion (see fifth photo): I've looked closely at a bunch of the made-in-china modular campers - to me, everything here looks different and unique. No conclusion possible on...

    Gladiator - Good/Bad?

We're currently on the 3rd-gen EcoDiesel in the current JL/JT/Ram/etc. Not that it doesn't have any problems (CP4.2...) but the 1st and 2nd gen motors had a lot more. Curious which one you had in the Ram (love mine in my JTRD and would not have bought a JT if I couldn't have had the diesel)

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

The platform itself is 52” wide. The supplied mattress is 48” wide. Pretty much all of my camping nights are with my lady, and by the end of the night we end up with one large dog between our feet and another in between us. (They’re nominally supposed to sleep on the dog beds on the hatch.)...

I assume something like the EcoFlow Wave? Not a traditional RV roof unit

Help wanted - Overland Camper Build Direction

Replying here instead of your post on the gladiator forum... Black Bear Pass is only rated 4-6 in Jeep's BOH system, less than Engineer Pass (5-6) which was trivial in my JTRD + Alu-Cab. (Black Bear was still snowed in on my only CO wheeling trip so far.) 4-6 is basically mostly a graded dirt...

    Any info about Rockworkx Multi-Tool?

And here I was thinking the Hi-Lift kit was expensive at $140... I think there's an interesting idea here. But I'd need a burly, sharp steel shovel blade with a good point (this looks to only have a light duty aluminum sand/snow shovel at best) and a D-ring attachment (often need to shove on...

    Gladiator - Good/Bad?

Pretty easy to access, under a bracket just inside the driver’s side frame. Remove the cover with 3 10mm bolts, then unscrew the cap. About $60 for OE Mopar filters. Oil changes for the ecodiesel aren’t cheap, between somewhat uncommon API SN 5W-40 oil, $80 OE oil filters, and now fuel...

    Gladiator - Good/Bad?

@pdxfrogdog Sure thing: https://titanfueltanks.com/products/sidekick-tank/gladiator-sidekick-tank-5060015 It probably won't be what everyone would do - I've been able to afford the space where it is, I don't mind the little sliver of lost space on the driver side, etc. Ideally, I'd rather...

    Dirtbox Overland

GoFast's camper looks to be entirely manufactured in-house in Montana (if one were to believe all their videos showing off their CNC lines) at a similar price as this OVS/Dirtbox camper? My Alu-Cab is made in South Africa for what it's worth. Nothing wrong with outsourcing necessarily (to me...

    Gladiator - Good/Bad?

Relevant page in the pre-recall owner’s manual. So basically avoid B5-B20 but adjust service intervals if you have to run it, and no more than B20. I’m very curious to see the new addendum post-recall. I know they now require a fuel filter change every oil change, instead of recommending it...

    Gladiator - Good/Bad?

I've derated once on a long hot climb with no trailer at all (Alu-Cab Canopy Camper + tons of gear). Dan's right, this is well documented. There's a long thread on jeepgladiatorforum with lots of experiments. Unfortunately to date, it's not been as simple as just a thicker radiator. Some...
