Here it is welded in with some reinforcements to the next crossmember. This should keep any bounce out of it.

    M416 Hybrid

While planning our next trip that will definitely involve mountain biking, I decided a rear hitch for the bike rack is in order. A stop at our local Tractor Supply got us a receiver hitch. Here it is notched in and ready for the welder.

For giggles, I mounted the tent directly to the lid and set it up. My concern is it’s too close to the ground and I will get tired of bending over to get inside it.

I am keeping the lid’s main structure and either mounting the RTT directly to it or figuring out plan B (not sure what that is just yet). If I don’t cover it, I’ll have to make sure whatever sits in the trailer is in a plastic box or fine getting wet. If I build a new rack, it’s definitely going...

    M416 Hybrid

Today I decided to put the trailer on a diet. I really liked the look and the security the metal diamond plate offered but it simply was too heavy. Once removed I’d have to estimate the trailer lost 150-200 pounds. I mean that thing is heavy! The second dislike was the rack I built. Without the...

Looking for some input from people on the forum. I have about 10k miles on the trailer now and have enjoyed its flexibility. I was thinking about using some material I have for a simple shade. Today I messed around in the driveway trying to figure out a simple way to attach it. It seems a little...

Looking for some assistance. I just realized I titled this thread with a name that was already being used. I feel terrible and want to rename the thread. I am having trouble figuring out how to. Any help would be appreciated.

    M416 hybrid (updated w lots O' Pics)

Preacherman, I wanted to take a moment and offer my sincerest apologies. I started a thread with the same title as yours. I am not a forum guru but will work on changing my title. At the time of my build I was not aware the title was already in use. I guess I should have done a google search...

    M416 Hybrid

Loaded everything up and headed out for a trip across the US. My destination was to run the Rubicon Trail with some friends. The trailer pulled very well with only minor problems. 5,200 miles with the trailer behind the Jeep (minus the Rubicon). I had a blast and was able to come home with some...

    M416 Hybrid

I wired some small LEDs under the trailer. My thought is to be able to have a little light around the perimeter of the trailer so we don't stumble over things. The light is just enough without blinding you and shines just around the trailer. Very little currrent draw off the battery too.
