Importing Slide-in Truck Camper from Europe

What about the land power wiring (if it has it)? For the same power, 110V draws twice the Amperes as opposed to 230V.

Custom Pop up on a Taco

Well done, that looks like a nice camper and very neatly constructed, good job!

    Pop-up hinges?

I don't know if these are available in the US, but google "tila continuous hinge" and you will find a sealed hinge that I believe is German built and available here in Europe (but quite costly!).

Built-in pass-through water heater, anybody done that?

Yes, no trickling water indeed. I read someplace else about using a valve and running the water back into the tank for another reason as well: navy showers! Not that I like them, but the idea was that - when conserving water by switching the flow off completely - you would get scalding hot water...

    Safe propane tank storage

Gas is heavier than air, so it will flow to the bottom. To get rid of it, you need sufficient ventilation in the floor. Also, keep the gas bottles upright all the time,so in case of a leak in the connection or in case the pressure inside the bottle rises to the point the safety valve trips, only...

Atwood on demand water heater in a "family adventure" rig?

Yes, from what I have read, the AquaGo is a very nice (but expensive) unit. However, Truma don't sell it in Europe, only in the US. Go figure: I am in Europe (Holland), Truma is a very well-known brand over here and they have a product I would like to buy (let's assume money is no object...

Atwood on demand water heater in a "family adventure" rig?

Hmmm I didn't know that. I did a search but came up empty. If you happen you find more details, then please post here. I will do the same. Hi Dave, thanks for the feedback. Good to hear regarding the build quality. And yes I know: no navy showers with a heater like this, but that is kind of...

Atwood on demand water heater in a "family adventure" rig?

Thanks 1Louder for your feedback. I looked up Turtleback Trailers and I think you're right about them offering this unit as an option: they mention "Atwood On Demand 50.000 BTU water heater" as an upgrade. When I was searching this forum for people using the Atwood, I found someone selling a...

Atwood on demand water heater in a "family adventure" rig?

Hi David, My understanding is that the RV550 is the successor to the RV500, which is/was largely identical to the Atwood. Be this true or not, I don't find many reviews on the PT models, whereas the Atwood gets quite some good reviews on Amazon and some other forums (with the occasional...

Built-in pass-through water heater, anybody done that?

Haha thankless, priceless! You almost had me thinking you were a sales rep for Eccotemp with the text you posted, but I got the information from it that I was after: the type / model number. I hope your unit delivers what you got it for, please report back when you get to finally using it!

Built-in pass-through water heater, anybody done that?

Thanks papawheely! And just to quote myself: I started a separate thread to answer this question: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/147389-Atwood-on-demand-water-heater-in-a-quot-family-adventure-quot-rig

Atwood on demand water heater in a "family adventure" rig?

Sure, no problem! You're considering getting one yourself? In the reviews I found, people seem very happy with this unit, but as far as I can tell they mostly use them in regular RVs and 5th wheelers. As I don't plan any heavy offroading with my rig, just regular paved roads and some occasional...

Water tank level sensor + indicator!

I don't have the exact size available, but here in Europe, I think 4 to 5 inch is about a regular size. It's enough to fit your through to reach in and clean out the bottom of the tank with e.g. a sponge.

Atwood on demand water heater in a "family adventure" rig?

Lately I've been looking into on demand water heaters (see http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/146649-Built-in-pass-through-water-heater-anybody-done-that) and after considering the portable (indoor/outdoor) variety, the Atwood 90205 model seems interesting...

Built-in pass-through water heater, anybody done that?

What about an Atwood tankless on demand water heater? I find myself looking at one of these more and more: http://www.amazon.com/Attwood-90205-On-Demand-Water-Heater/dp/B007S3MTI8 Seems to get good reviews. True, it is more expensive than e.g. an Eccotemp indoor model (and living in Europe...

Built-in pass-through water heater, anybody done that?

That looks like a nice setup! Which model is that? I read up on the indoor models and noticed they specify stainless steel exhausts, staight or angled ones. Do Eccotemp specify any details on the air channel for the inbound flow (location, dimensions, etc)? I didn't find any.

Water tank level sensor + indicator!

Off-topic, but still: if you don't have an inspection hole, then how are you going to service your tank (for sanitation etc)?

    Uro-Camper Xplora II

Great build! I was in Spain for business last week, not all that far away from you (Salamanca) but not a moment to spare and pay you a visit, unfortunately... I am wondering though: what is the shower's hot water supply? Diesel powered as well, and what type and capacity is it?
