    Upland Hunting - General

This trip week before last was her second time pheasant hunting and I don’t think she does a true point by instinct. However, I’ve seen her flashpoint for a few seconds until she gets focused on a bird and flushes it, and once on this recent trip, she noticed an English pointer lock up and she...

    Upland Hunting - General

went on my first pheasant hunt in October 2015 in SE south Dakota. Got a small taste of public land hunting before a weekend hunt at an outfitter on private land. It didn't take long to realize that having a dog is a game changer. When I got back home in 2015, I told myself I would have a dog...

    DIY Cooler slide

I plan to strap it down to the board when loaded down and on the road. I think I need to move the tent forward a little bit and fine tune positioning on the board.

    DIY Cooler slide

I picked up 2 90qt rotomolded coolers for less than one yeti tundra 75 to use on long road trips. problem is the distance between my tent rails and the floor of the trailer is too short to open the cooler. and a fully loaded cooler is too heavy to take out of the trailer every time we need...

    Need ideas for rebuild

update.... i figured it was a good idea to replace the bearings and if I always have a set for each hub on hand, i need some kind of container to carry the bearings and grease and tools needed to do a bearing swap in case of a breakdown in the field. As it were, I have a couple of John Deere...

    Need ideas for rebuild

turns out you are right about the rims being ag rims. i figured since i was going to be 1500 miles from home on a family road trip this summer, i needed to know how to service and replace wheel bearings in case we had an emergency failure on the road. i've never serviced or replaced wheel...

    Need ideas for rebuild

So, I built a shorter tailgate and repositioned the fenders. Next step is to touch up the paint before I have a friend cut aluminum panels for the side and front walls to help keep gear in, and road grime out of the bed. After that, I will bolt on the no-weld rack towers that will hold...

    Need ideas for rebuild

finally got around to mounting fenders and finishing the tailgate. this is basically lawn mower/4 wheeler mode. I'm not completely satisfied with the current fender location, but it was the best i could do with the materials I had and the orientation of the angle iron used as the side...
