    Smittybuilt Element Ramps

I had a Trailblazer do a burn out on my second set of Maxtrax. (I left my first set somewhere... argh...) There is rubber now on the Maxtrax but not a single lug lost.

    Snatch block for 3/8" Synthetic?

Either of the ARBs will work. I like the MasterPull block made specifically for synthetic. It is lighter and functions better with syn line. I have it right now in the shop recovery bag.

Why all the hi-lift hate? Is there an alternative?

The 60" (or 5') Hi-Lifts aren't rated as high in the top 12" of height as they are in the bottom 48". That is usually when the upright bends.

Why all the hi-lift hate? Is there an alternative?

I strongly echo what the Woodsman said about using a bottle jack first - it is much safer and more controlled. I always pull out the bottle jack from the shop FJ Cruiser before the Hi-Lift. A Hi-Lift is an awesome tool but can bite you (as it has bit me).

    Jerry Cans

If you want to argue semantics with the Feds or a judge then that is up to you - go for it. From a business perspective I won't touch selling these cans as the potential fines are HUGE. Several business sell them but I won't based on what I've found.

    Jerry Cans

Check that. It is very difficult to get a direct answer - BUT - all the research I did into Federal (EPA) laws before my company carried gas cans pointed to that it WAS ILLEGAL to sell or purchase new "non-CARB" compliant cans. Basically the CARB regulations stated in CA and then were adopted by...

    Cleaning Kinetic Rope

Thousands? That is a bit much. 12 strand (Amsteel Blue, etc) doesn't absorb water. You have to work hard to make it mold. Winch line isn't impossible to splice. Double braid isn't either, but double braid is significantly harder. I teach many every year how to splice both at wheeling events...

Aramid rope vs Amsteel Blue vs "Plasma"

SK75 starts to lose strength at 150 deg F but gains it back when it cools. Your concern there is spooling out under load, as if you were lowering a vehicle down a hill and they were inop, which doesn't happen very often at all. Plasma is good, usually costs a bit more.

    Cleaning Kinetic Rope

Dawn might be OK, it isn't crazy harsh. You often can't see the damage done to the fibers of line by chemicals.

    Cleaning Kinetic Rope

I don't recommend using harsh cleaners like degreasers. Chemicals can damage rope fibers depending on the manufacture of the rope.

    Reversing Synthetic Winch Rope

The flattening is from pressure. Synthetic line is very flexible so it will become 'angular' in shape to deal with the load instead of keeping it's circular shape. Many look at syn line that has been used and think it has melted when most often it has not. You can almost always work the 'melted'...

    Reversing Synthetic Winch Rope

Check to make sure grit came out from between the 12 strands. Pinching and working the line with your fingers is why you do that. I don't know how a washing machine can get the 12 strands open well enough to flush out that grit. :sombrero:

You are very welcome. Oh, a beer helps too (drinking, not in the water.)

    Reversing Synthetic Winch Rope

Probably not - BUT - the better bet is to put it in a 5 gallon bucket of water. Warm water is better, agitate it with your hands a bit to get the easy to remove dirt off, replace the water, then pinch the line about two inches apart between your fingers and push towards each other to open up the...

    Reversing Synthetic Winch Rope

I wouldn't sweat it and would run it as it is. But - if you want to turn your line around that is fine. Inspect your drum end to make sure it is not damaged. The flat nature, as you pointed out, is from being under tension. It looks like you properly spooled your line under tension! To make...

    Cleaning Kinetic Rope

I typically soak them in warm water for a looong time when they are really dirty, moving them around with my hands for a little "washing machine" action. Replace the water several times if they are really dirty. I've replaced dirty water over half a dozen times before. You can add some light...

    Synthetic Which Rope

I don't know of any shortage. The material these companies use is produced by several factories depending on the manufacturer they use.
