Truck Trend 2015 Pickup of the Year

I'd probably never buy a Powerwagon, because it isn't the type of vehicle I prefer, but it is one impressive truck. I ran the Cleghorn Trail in the Cajon Pass area of Southern California a couple of years ago. My friend (in a 4Runner Trail Edition) and I (in my Xterra Pro-4x) were pretty...

Anybody heard from Colorado Camper Vans?

AugDog, poor customer service is never temporary. Proceed at your own risk.

    Suitcase for airline travel?

Whatever you buy, make sure you get one that fits within the policy of the airline(s) you typically fly. See http://www.travelnerd.com/airline-fees/carry-on-luggage-sizes. For US carriers, the lowest common denominator seems to be 22 x 14 x 9.

Anybody heard from Colorado Camper Vans?

If a company won't return your call/email when you're looking to buy something, imagine how much trouble you will have getting their attention post sale when you need help with something. I have no experience with them at all, but based on their behaviors described above, I'd avoid them like...

    Suitcase for airline travel?

I have, and regularly use, a Travelpro Crew 9 22" carry-on. Held up well so far, and properly sized to fit in overhead bins. Even has a garment bag feature. So far no complaints. I got it off Amazon for $185. So far, I'm quite happy with it.

    Charging the house batteries

And now that I've had my coffee, DiploStrat's comment about a relay makes sense, since that is what the tow wiring uses to cut power to the trailer when the vehicle ignition is off.

    Charging the house batteries

Mark, my apologies. I misunderstood you initially. I assumed you were towing a trailer when I heard "camper". I would imagine there is probably a way to hook the house batteries up to your tow wiring (which will only be active when the ignition us on, assuming the Fuso has such wiring)...

    Nissan Xterra Discontinued in U.S.

What is selling right now are minivans and station wagons that don't look like either one, aka "crossovers". The market for real off road capability can apparently only support one contestant at this point.

    Charging the house batteries

DiploStrat, what is the purpose of the relay?

    Charging the house batteries

I charge off the alternator running a 7-pin connector. It works great for me, but my trailer only has ~120 AH battery in it, and my tow vehicle even less. You'd probably have to do a lot of driving to fill 930 AH, but then again, it probably never gets close to empty. I have a solar charger...

    Nissan Xterra Discontinued in U.S.

So what is left for someone who wants an off-road capable mid-size SUV in 2016? Seems to me that the JK is it. Maybe the 4runner, but is a little big, and doesn't offer a manual transmission. I'm sure the decision to drop the Xterra was made some time ago, but the timing seems poor on...

    Kitchen Organization

Havasu is a bit far, but I might be willing to drive if they're good. What's the name of the person/business?

    Kitchen Organization

I'd like to find something a little more "built-in", like in this pic: My guess is I may need to find a good cabinet maker to fabricate it for me. Does anyone know a good cabinet maker in the Las Vegas area?

    Kitchen Organization

I'm looking for a utensil organizer that has a lid or tie downs to put in one of the drawers of my teardrop. I'm also looking for a good spice rack that I can mount to one of the interior kitchen walls that will keep the bottles secure when off road. Any suggestions?

Radflo + OME Leaf Springs Installed

I just got back from Mojave Road (Feb. 14th to 17th), this time towing the teardrop. While Mojave Road isn't a particularly difficult trail with the exception of one descent right before Rock Spring, it does provide a good sampling of various types of terrain. In all, the new suspension (OME...

Radflo + OME Leaf Springs Installed

Took the new suspension off-road for the first time today in Death Valley. Overall, I'm very happy with it. For those of you familiar with Death Valley, I entered via Titus Canyon Road near Beatty, NV. Everything seemed pretty well sorted at the start of Titus Canyon. The first few miles...

Looking for Good Street Legal Off-Road Bike Options

I'm fairly tall (6'1"), so the WRR is not bad for me, but I could easily see where a beginner shorter than me might find it intimidating. I thought about a KTM (if you see my original post), but in the end decided against it due to the increased maintenance requirements. I just purchased the...
