    Chevy 6.5l Turbo Diesel.

Absolutely, if you want to use a stock side mount turbo heath diesel makes a spring loaded waste gate actuator. If it were me, I would find a hx35 and use that. They can be found with a mechanical waste gate stock, and you wont be forced to carry as much boost under light load. The stock gm...

    Chevy 6.5l Turbo Diesel.

250hp in a 6.5 will usually result in 500lbft, which is what my last suburban had. It towed ok, and was fun to drive, but a juiced Cummins it was not.

    Chevy 6.5l Turbo Diesel.

Aardvarcus, just to clarify some 6.5 history, gm sold the 6.5 to am general. Gep was set up as a wholly owned subsidiary of AMG for the purpose of engineering and production of the 6.5. Most of the design fixes that were introduced under gep were engineered by GM, and just had not yet been...

    Reliability of 4wd conversions

Whatever you do, make sure what is used for parts is well documented and understood. Your going to have to be the smart one at oreillys guiding the part guy to what you need.

    Chevy 6.5l Turbo Diesel.

I've had 3 6.5 burbs, no issues. Safe to push to 250hp, but I would not go much further than that for long life if it's doing any work.

Durango/Expedition/Tahoe - Chassis and Suspension differences?

We bought a used 2013 expedition limited, 50k on it. Been flawless so far. Appears to have a boxed frame everywhere I can see. Rides great, far less costly than a similar age tahoe.

Learn me about the 6.9/7.3 idi motors

I've been running 6.5s for the past 20 years. With a turbo installed they become much more useful for towing. I don't see the higher maintenance cost that people typically mention. Oil, filters, really no different than gas prices.

Learn me about the 6.9/7.3 idi motors

If it's been well cared for I'd pick it up. Worst case is you need a reman long block, of which there are plenty. Idi won't get you the efficiency of a di engine, but it won't cost nearly as much. And super easy to work on.

    2013 Expedition

This past weekend I changed oil from whatever the dealer filled it with. Filled with 0w 20 synthetic, and it made a huge difference in valve train chatter on startup.

    2013 Expedition

Its sufficient for hauling out family around, but that's about it. I didn't buy it for towing, but the trailer prep stuff is real misleading. I looked at a few tuners out of curiosity. 400 or so bucks for 20hp? I don't think so. I couldn't even feel a 6 percent increase, even if it delivered...

    2013 Expedition

So we finally had to bite the bullet and update the family truck. It's my wife's daily vehicle. And the one we use when were all going somewhere together. Its a 13 expedition limited. Its replacing the now handed down to me 05 Durango limited. Expedition has silly amount of features, and...

Upgrading to clutch fan, brand recommendations?

Hayden has been around for decades. I'd get a standard thermal unit. Need a good shroud too, make a all the difference. Fan should protrude two thirds I to the shroud. The better its sealed against the radiator the better it works.

Next Question: Diesel vs. Gas F350

2 egr coolers, both those required engine removal or body removal too. 5 dpf heaters. All of our failures of any magnitude have been off warranty. But well over 150k.

Next Question: Diesel vs. Gas F350

Our fleet of GM diesels have had a 20 percent fail rate on high pressure pumps. Pull body or pull the engine to replace. Very costly, and never happened close to home. The fords share the same basic pump. I think Cummins is using a different version.

GMT800 Suburban Towing issues: Gearing or power?

Martinjmpr, you are correct. A higher octane rating than what you need will only lighten your wallet. No engine damage will result.

2000 Suburban K1500 budget low lift with 37"s

I've had good luck sealing up cheap air fitting with jb weld on the threads. Just make sure you don't want to take them apart later.

    2015 to 2017 GM 2500 HD

10k pretty well correlates to the oil change algorithm that gm uses. For what the truck is were really underworking them.
