It really is, but is it $25k awesome? I seem to recall that's what they were asking back when they were listing the price...it's been for sale for a long time now. The whole body tilts up like a funny car. Sweet rig.
A '01 with the 5.4 should have the 4r100 and, as far as I've been told, they are all the same as long as you are going gas to gas. Not sure what van you're working on, but a 250/350 will have a 4r100. A 150 would have a 4r70. Regarding the engine, the truck engine makes slightly more power...

They have those consoles for 139 on ebay. I wouldn't run a ton of power to those pioneers, and you're going to have to get "unique" with your wiring to power 6 speakers. Cool van, and I'm all about Father/Son projects. That's how I got started slingin' wrenches as well. Fair winds!
Ran a bore scope down the plenums and can't find any more debris, so it's back together now. We ordered/installed Dieselsite's plenum supports and boots and, between this and the new wheel, I can already see a difference in engine operation just with it idling and revving it in the driveway...

Alright so if we rewind a bit, the last time we posted an update we had left the Ford dealer and were headed to Kentucky to get the van checked out. We ran basically stripped out and sleeping on an air mattress in the back of the van. It was pretty sweet...we racked out at a truckstop on the way...
