No it is just resting there. It has not been secured to the trailer as of yet. To clarify, neither the tent nor the frame are secure at the moment. More for looks than anything. I was trying to figure out where it will go.
So I built my trailer and wondering how or if there’s a specific location to adhere the frame to the trailer itself? Does it really matter. I was planning on placing it in the middle of the trailer but now I wondering if it matters centered or more towards the front.
My question is more of...
That might work. I could take a section of scrap DOM material weld it to the frame with just an extension on the end then clamp it that way. I’ll go check. Thanks.
Since they really dont sell a mount for it, any ideas for those that have made one or thought of doing it? My RTT frame is set with 1 3/4” DOM tubing and I have to either use a 15” section of the same DOM tubing welded to a piece of flat stock. OR. I use 2x2 square tubing and do the same idea...
Fellow union brother,
Recommend that you hold off on the axle until you have finished the frame first before order it. I had to buy an additional axle after having it done and gave the measurements to the trailer shop by me. Buy a 3500 lb axle that fits a Jeep which is what I did and no need for...
I’ve never had a problem towing it. The general rule for trailer placement that I found all over the net and I measured like 5x for welding it for a 60/40 split. It an optical illusion when you view it. The measurement is spot on but thanks for the compliment on the trailer.
Looks like I’m on to stage two of the build: rtt rack. 1.75” 120dom. Adding light mounts for the corners, hi lift mount, looking to make a mount for the Rhino foxwing setup and probably some type of carabiner mount.
I’ve got a nice stretch of weather coming this week so hope to have it done by...
It’s legal. Just passed the inspection the state patroller asked me where I bought it from told him I built it myself. Really? He said. Felt pretty good got to admit it
Great thanks for the advice on the ground. Any thoughts on the long ground wire I have to place on it and the flex. Could I use a spring and somehow attach it to the wire to keep it out of the way of the tire??
Ok where is the best place to attach the ground for electric brakes. I was going to just use the frame to attach the grounding wire to tthe brake wire but I started thinking about my poly bushings and how I didn’t want a grounding issue since what Ive been told is the biggest critical failure...
