NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

That's an option, but given age of components and the way they tend to be interdependent-not to mention my own inspection from being on the lift, it's about time to replace the consumables known as LCAs thus I'm about 99% certain that will already be on the list. Since we're nearing 150k, with...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

So the front end is getting wobbly...based off inspection during that recent oil change, I believe the LCAs are going-and the UCAs have some nice rust streaks coming out of the bolts so they may well finally be going too (147k on the truck, believe the UCAs are original) Thoughts from anyone...

    MaxTrax, are they worth it?

Maybe take the extra money and get something that uses a sling vice a holster? That way you aren't bringing a pistol to a long gun fight... ...may come in handy after the pit bulls break and the truck is still stuck. I am (mostly) kidding of course since we have long covered the substantive...

    Your 2 loves....

Hmmmm, just two loves? Because there is a couple of mine...of course this is one of those with one of hers too... I tend to have a lot of loves so...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Actually no. It can be masked at times depending on which direction you are driving but by and large it works fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Paul tapping my thread made me realize I'm long overdue for an update but in truth not too much modification going on specific to Saqr. Plenty of winter utilization mind you. Some maintenance, 145k oil change and tire rotation. Other things have taken some attention. Like getting my...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Paul- Just used two of the bars, have the other two in the garage bc, well, how many of us have the PS and need the bars? Hit me at ray.gerber(at)gmail.com, I'll make a good deal compared to retail! R- Ray Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

manual transmission for classic Range Rover

As noted by Red, an R380 fm a manual disco could do the job. You'll want the whole truck as a donor probably, or at a minimum the pedal box and core elements, which you'll need to modify. You'll also be doing some trim work to make it all right. Not impossible, particularly from a pure...

    Call me crazy...1994 Disco 1

The degradation you'd expect from now having a truck that can lock up. That said, since they aren't sports cars, I have just found driving it appropriate for weight and COG has never had any issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Call me crazy...1994 Disco 1

I think many of us with D1s pull the master fuse and just drive accordingly. You can chase the ABS system with parts but I never found it worth it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Call me crazy...1994 Disco 1

My experience, such as it is (and is far more verbose in my D1 thread) lends to this: There is something inherently great about a D1 if her quirks appeal to you. The RRC is nicer by far, but the D1 has its own charm and does have some utility that the RRC doesn't quite have. On the whole my...

    Open Carry in Wilderness Areas

What's funny is sometime early in my 2nd deployment I stopped carrying a pistol period-except to go into the chow hall (and that was using a captured Italian Beretta 92 vice an issue sidearm). I hit a point where between the M4 and the 203 if that couldn't solve the problem, well...you get the...

    Wanted: 40+ watt GMRS Radio

Signing up for Midland's distro lists should get you a good discount code, potentially to couple with ongoing sales. Their 40W GMRS unit is pretty good, though truth be told I tend to just stick with the 115 (or the 275) since for my application the 15w coupled with a decent antenna is more...

    MaxTrax, are they worth it?

Fair enough; I'll dig through my pics and see what I can find but to start with the list of experiences, side by side: Maxtrax vs fiberglass waffle boards (mine) vs TREDS vs 1st Gen ActionTrax vs one of those cheap sets of folding mats (see pic to illustrate those) Ironically in that case (and...

    Looking at a LR3

Since this comes up pretty much anytime someone is looking for an LR3; any particular reason for the locker? I ask b/c many would say rack and stack options you desire to find the one most suitable for your application-but for the vast majority of those applications the locker really doesn't...

    Kifaru Woobie vs Rumpl Down

We have a woobie...it's a fantastic piece of gear, but as a warm sleeper I find that it can almost be too warm at times. In fact I tend to drift back to a regular poncho liner, which allows the wife to take the woobie wholesale since she sleeps cold.

    Open Carry in Wilderness Areas

So since the discussion has plenty of ample resourcing put to it already, I'll ask if we're talking pistol vice long gun. Mostly b/c I tend to think of a pistol as something to get to a rifle; and when we're talking wilderness areas that very much is long gun work vice short. I know this...

Lucky 8 Christmas sales what do you want to see?

I want to see the crew as part of a calendar. Justin clearly will get Feb since it is Valentine's day, but put the whole group out there... In all seriousness...LR3/LR4 LCAs, TREs, etc-i.e. the chance to get the pieces together to tighten up suspensions in the new year. Not that i'm looking...
