I had one of these. Sold it with my last rig. It was great. Worked a charm. I’m 90% sure it was 24v capable but you had to open it up and either clip, or connect a wire. Maybe intact the company and find out. Overall a great unit for a good price...
Yep. In Reach does have weather. I have the SpotX and at the risk of starting a flame war still find it to be the more cost effective and robust platform. I have no interest in switching at this time. I would like to find a service that can SMS a weather report...and I think there used to be one.
Not sure where else to post this so here goes.
Long ago I recall a service where you could text your lat/long and get back a weather forecast. Does anyone know if this still exists and if so, where can I get info on it?
If it does not exist, it should! I'd like to be able to text my location...
I have ABSOLUTELY nothing bad to say about our ‘02 7.3. It’s not an OBS but it is a great truck. CCLB 4x4 in near pristine condition. Not sure what your budget is but we paid $10k for it. Reliable, great support globally, decent MPG, and a ton of power. For the price I’d buy it again in a...
No. You’re not missing something. He’s got no idea what he’s talking about. He just put your truck into a computer and it said that those fit. And they do fit. But not what you want.
I shopped around on the web looking at manufacturer data for lots of wheels before selecting the Method wheels...
Super happy with my Nitro Ridge Grapplers. Very quiet on the road, air Dow great, and carry my 4k# camper well. I’m personally running a 35x12.5 18 load range F. Other sizes available though. Just be aware of load rating as different sizes of same tire can vary.

Well, I do run 315s at max load. I was sensitive to temps for a bit until I got familiar with them. Temps are definitely the important factor. More critical than the speed on the sidewall. I’m sure the OP can run a little over max speed while empty. A check on temps would be a great check. Ymmv...
Meh... pressures are supposed to be set cold. This allows for about 5-10 psi increase at driving temp. If you go high to start you’re going to end up pretty high.
I agree in general with the comments but if tires are rated for 68mph, going freeway speeds of 70ish while empty is NOT going to be...
I haul a 4K camper on my 2002. There’s no doubt it is close to the limit of what the truck can do but it does it. Can I drive it like it’s empty? No way. But with some common sense it handles it fine and I feel safe. To do this required some upgrades but nothing to bad. All in including new...
Holy ********. Could not have said it better. That’s exactly the reason(s) I bought and will keep my 7.3. Well put.

+1 for keeping a trusty older truck in the road. I paid $10k for mine in pristine condition. No payments. Im ok with spending a grand here and there to keep it going. I’m also stoked to be able to access and repair most things. The new trucks are NICE but just don’t make $$ sense for me.
