Flux core is simple but messy. It is like stick. It can weld through rust and paint in a pinch (but prep your metal) and windier conditions (if outside). Lots of spatter, but can clean up pretty well. No shielding gas needed.
Except for a welding class over a decade ago, I have only used...
We probably got our machines around the same time, lol. I just wish the overload protection would kick in so I didn't have to keep tripping a breaker and making laps to the basement. I swapped another 20 amp breaker and same thing. It's 10 gauge wire in the wall, too.
Btw, you do great work...
forgot about Northern tool and klutch welders. I have been looking at Toolium and cut50 plasma cutters on amazon, titanium at harbor freight, and amico on home depot
(For the do-it yourselfers...)😝
Does anyone have any good or bad experience with any og the cheap invertwr type welders? Particularly 220V, multi-process, or even plasma cutters?
I am thinking of augmenting my old Lincoln 135 pro mig that has been tripping breakers as of late (diagnosing...
Does your 10 bolt have tone rings in the rear for abs? As long as the teeth are the same count, i would assume it would get a good signal. I belive the 2500 ff used the same axle from 2001 to 2010.
Edit: Rockauto is great to get a clue. I looked at a 2500HD ff 14 bolt wheel hub with ring...
Did you grenade the rear?
Tahoe's had a habit of blowing up rear ends. These were heavy "pursuit" rated PPV's. I drove a 2006 and a 2010 for over 8 years. The other Tahoes in our fleet blew up rear ends at around 100k. That was from multiple 0- 100 launches, sometimes from a gravel median...
lots of hard work on this post. I must ask, why not 1 tons? is it because that was available? Just curious.
this thread almost motivates me to swap my dodge axles onto my chevy. Almost.....
Not mine. I am not affiliated, nor have i ever bought anything from them, but it is a full size with iron bull bumpers. Thought it was interesting and figure ibwould pass along the eye candy

Thank you for your reply. I should have asked what your backspacing is on your 37s. (was looking at customoffsets website for a clue, and found none..
Making a few a$$umptions (you know what that does, lol), those are probably 17x8 or 10ish wheels. Summit says their weld wheels are 6.2...
I just picked up a 08 2500 sub amd saw this thread. Thanks for putting these ideas im my head...
(Read comments on the woes of your 2500, but I'll take my chances with the larger drivetrain components if i ever do mount my 37s from my old dodge)
I have done the norcal mod on two different...
