Ah interesting. Product spec says “Open Circuit Voltage (Voc) 22.5V”. I remember researching appropriate setup When I installed this all a year or two ago and ended up with the 75/10. Perhaps wise to just replace with the same and not mess with what worked!
Simple question, from someone with very basic understanding of solar / electrical.
Have a single 100w panel trickle feeding main battery to support fridge etc. My controller has had a hardware failure and need to replace. However might repurpose in a future build with more panels / batteries...
Did you just drill out holes to go over the existing bolts / washers and then drilled new holes for the track? Was contemplating that, but that would mean drilling into the lift track somewhere most likely. Guess it’s the lesser of available evils..
About to install some basic front runner rails on the roof. Before I commit and start drilling’...
Tempted to run the rails between the bolts / washers that hold the hinge / strut hardware and the first “rib” of the roof (red line in pic... not tape measure). That way I can avoid drilling into...
Chris @venture4wd has an episode where he was staying in a OK4WD rig (Tacoma?) with an AluCab. Had a pretty trick little propane fireplace in the back wall. I don’t recommend watching unless you want to spend money. He also tried another one of their rigs that was fully fitted out with Goose...
Well... sure enough found my stuff dumped down the street. Found the manual, but all the receipts and reg / insurance cards gone. They also tossed aside a perfectly good tire gauge (thankso for that back), and... get this one... they threw away a roll of toilet paper that was in the center...
With everything we’re all dealing with, and then a bunch of personal crap in the past couple of days... this was really the cherry on top. Fingers crossed they tossed the owner’s manual in the trash and kept the misc crap they got, and that’s that. Appreciate everyone’s replies here.
Anyone know if I’m at risk of thieves making a key with all the info they stole?
I’m sure it’ll be censored, but ******** the people doing this crap during all of this. Hope karma comes back and kicks them in the ass.
Yup, just got it working. Was a mixture of watching an old install video, not seeing the Bluetooth, and plain old user error.
Thanks for the response though!
Have wired battery to sc, then sc to solar. Get a solid blue LED for power from the panels. Nothing else.
Metering the the connections controller side, I get ~14v coming from battery. ~16 volts from panel.
Any ideas?
Awesome, thanks @dreadlocks. Appreciate the help!
EDIT: I did find some already pre-fused 12AWG wire with connectors and matching SAE plug. Would save me a couple bucks. Still do the trick?
Ah sorry, yeah I meant 10AWG just from the controller to the battery. The SAE plug is already wired with 10AWG, so I was just continuing the trend.
For extension to the panel (when it’s not on the roof), I’ll just be using that GZ 8mm to SAE lead (And 8mm extension cable if needed).
Re: fuse...
Trying to wrap up all these loose ends (pun intended I guess) on solar install.
Have a Goal Zero 100W panel and Victron 75/10 Smart Controller in my possession, and a handful of things in my amazon cart.
Goal Zero 8mm Female to SAE Connector...
