Yah!
Road trip from CO to Palm Springs via Mojave Desert, then home via Joshua tree, Flagstaff, and Bears Ears monument. Over Thanksgiving/my 50th B-day with my wife and 12yr old.
Some pics of the Mojave section
Nice job putting your rig through the paces, and a NCV3!
I've found our 4x4 (awd) NCV3 to be pretty capable, especially for a big ass van - although its as 'small' as they come (144 low top) and built out as a 'lightweight' weekender. It's ~7500lb loaded to go.
I'm pretty sure I've seen...
^^Yeah, I see ~50% of the posted photos - bummer, as I love the ones I can see!
This has been mentioned before... something to do with how they are hosted (on FB? and I'm not a facebook person)
I also have State Farm. We bought a 2017 4x4 Sprinter cargo van new, then added a SMB penthouse and LOTS of other stuff to make our camper.
When we talked to our agent he said we could insure it for more of a market value, rather than a cargo van + parts. We took lots of pictures, keep the...
Went beach camping (in Nebraska... Lake McConaughy). Cool sunsets, but not really our scene. I prefer many fewer people around me (and it was hot as F*@%) .
Cool fact, the lake was 'made' in the 1930's but the sand was there already, left from the ancient ocean that occupied that land. It's...
Camped a few nights up at Curt Gowdy State Park in WY last week. Great site on a peninsula.
Awesome mnt biking! Lots of granite rock playgrounds, and fun/flowy sections. My 12yr old really upped his technical riding! The park also has archery (including a woods course), and obviously...
Pics from fathers day camp weekend. Outside of Nederland, CO in an area called 'West Mag' - dispersed camping with sweet mnt bike trails. We've been camping/biking around here for 25yrs. This is a particularly sweet spot with a seasonal stream that makes it pretty lush (for CO).
My old van, '85 Syncro Weekender with 2.5l Subaru (no, they didn't sell Syncro's in the USA in '85 - I had to build it myself in 2014)
Primitive camp in Dinosaur National Park. Really cool place! Monumental cliffs and the confluence of the Yampa and the Green rivers.
^^ Whoa - did not know about the wet wipers. Going to have to get on that train, as the factory spray 'pattern' is pretty lame on my '17. Thanks for the info!
Also noticed your rock sliders, but must have missed that in your build documentation. Who makes them? They look like they would...
Awesome!
Do the Falcon shocks bolt into the same mounts that the Fox kit came with? I installed the original VC Fox-shock setup (with adjustable rears), and am wondering if I could easily upgrade in the future to the Falcons, with adjustability on all four corners.
Your van looks really...
That white van is sweet.
I didn't know SMB still did E350 pop-tops... great that they do!
I had my SMB pop top installed in Austin as well. From what I've seen (could be wrong, or maybe not enough sample size) but they do the best finish work (out of the 3 SMB sites... now 2 I guess).
Even more Utah.
Hole in the rock road (to some slot canyons - which I found that I couldn't do... way to claustrophobic, but my wife and 11yr old had fun)
And the Burr Trail, which I've been wanting to travel for some years - super cool. Did it on my B-Day
18*F in the AM (yeah, Diesel...
More on Utah.
Through Capital Reef (South Draw 'Rd'). I knew this would be at least a dirt road, but it turned out to be pretty serious 4x4ing... lot of tripods and 2-wheel teetering (some next to near-cliff edges with zero line choice due to the narrowness of the trail). No pics of the...
Just an FYI to Jupiter58 - I've done both Engineer and Cinnamon passes in our '17 4x4 Sprinter - no real issues. Good times!
And cool report moto-treks! I've been through lots of these places in CO and WY, but need to get to the NM trails and definitely more in MT (such an awesome place)...
