I have a total of 5 USB chargers in my truck camper that keep burning out and I am interested in what others think me be the problem.
They are 12 volt female sockets with removable male 5 volt USB chargers inserts for our phones and...
Yes. 2 point front suspension bolts that were not sleeved. My second fabricator who helped me finish everything that my first fabricator screwed up thought I was over engineering everything. He felt that the rear pivot was strong and stiff enough after reinforcing the aluminum rails, cross...
Horizontal steel bar was welded between the tops of both front vertical mounts with gussets added on inside corners.
1 inch thick HDPE was placed in top of the horizontal bar to support the flatbed across the front.
Here is a different question.
Anti-sway bars have been mentioned but in the rear I have a pivot mount with a pullout drawer mounted beneath the pivot.
Would a rear away bar be appropriate for my situation?
Would it need to be disconnected when riding off pavement?
Guys, thanks for all the help.
Crawled under the truck and took these photos of the two front uprights.
In my phone, the pics are oriented correctly. I do not know why they are tipped horizontally.
You are looking at the bottom welds of the vertical front two mounts.
Yes, this is the build where I successfully sued my original fabricator for never finishing my flatbed build.
I recovered my monies and moved on to another fabricator who with the advice of...
Bilstein offers a 5100 series as well as a 4600 series. There is some talk elsewhere that the 4600 series is for heavy loads like a truck camper and the 5100 series is for lifted trucks going offroad. Comments?
Just checked on my rims and they are rated to 3600 pounds.
Camper weight was originally estimated at 1000 pounds less than the final product so yes I am overweight.
I am simply asking for help with suspension upgrade.
GM has a stock heavy duty leaf spring rated at 4000 pounds per side which would potentially handle the 7000 pounds I am carrying on...
We put a custom camper (3500 pounds) on my truck after building a custom flatbed.
I am not planning upon removing the camper.
Factory leaf springs are now compressed with very little space between tire and flat bed.

Agent says "not a problem". He put it on my truck insurance policy for full replacement and liability at "no additional charge". He asked for no receipts but...
I have had 2 insurance companies refuse to insure my custom camper which on my flatbed diesel truck. Camper was designed to be non removable with a pass thru installed between camper and truck. I thought that insuring it as an rv would be easy. Any suggestions?
The Justin Marquand saga continues.
This was posted on Crimestoppers locally.
He has now voluntarily surrendered to the police but is out on bail awaiting a court date.
I was told bad there were 2 bad checks totaling over $5000 which promoted the 2 felony charges here in NC.
In early Sept, he posted online with pics that he rolled his tricked out Suzuki Samurai and totaled it. He also claims to have fractured his C-5 vertebral body in his neck as well as cut off the top part of an ear. He says he needed surgery to put himself back together again. If he did fracture...
