Nice mods! I'd love to do something like that with my old Bandeirante, but it would be impossible to make it street legal.
My intention was something like that:
Only it would be without the back doors. I gave up after reading about the legal measures to make it street legal in Brazil.
Your 40 runs on gasoline or diesel?
My Bandeirante has a Mercedes Benz diesel engine and with the original tank (45L/12gal) it used to do about 450km (280mi) a tank.
Now that I have 2 tanks, I can drive more then 800 miles without having to refill.
I can suggest you tons of beautiful places in Brazil. But you gotta just give me an idea of a route, cuz Brazil is a little big and the places depend on your intentions (entering on north and going south, entering on south and going north, entering on west and going east, etc...). Coen and Karin...
Thanks for the links!
There is a brazilian couple doing the world trip and they had LOTS of trouble there. You may read their experience here: http://www.viagensmaneiras.com/PELOMUNDO/76/IRA.htm

So, there is no way of entering this country by car?
Or is there a chance to get in by a small border?

I hadn't read the whole thread, but I just had to answer to this crappy arguments...
Try proper speeding here:

My car has no extended exhaust system and I'm pretty sure the water won't EVER go in there. It has no electronics...
Awesome report. :clapsmile
Some people are so captivating on there reports that you feel like you actually lived there experiences. Just like when you read a book and it makes you imagine the hole story in your head as you were there FOR REAL.
I might say this one really had me thinking about...
Man, this is quite intense.
I've been reading this thread for quite a while, and I must say this is killing me! lol
I wonder if I would be able to do something like that with my Bandeirante (same as a BJ45). The thing that worries me the most are the spare parts.
Well, as we don't have 75's here...
