    1994 Suzuki Jimny light build

I owe an update. Work has been work, and quite frankly once we set the truck up we've just been using it so the mods kinda came to a halt. That said there is some stuff to highlight on the interior and such. More to follow. r- Ray

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Lemme see if I can remember given that I haven't laid hands on her for 8 months. -Def prefer the chicken coop in my book. I'd heard about the PS flooring-which looks good, but doesn't last. -I used large flat washers to ensure purchase and took my time measuring/drilling holes in the chicken...

    1994 Suzuki Jimny light build

Took some time over the weekend to play with onboard tool kit options. When we moved to Oki I basically threw a bunch of my excess tools (I am a Rover owner after all) in a peli and figured need would dictate. With the other vehicle being a Toyota Prado that is a grocery getter/DD it doesn’t...

    1994 Suzuki Jimny light build

Gotta love mail arriving. Some Low Range Off-road stuff showed up; not cheap to get the OE floor rubber floor mats but they work far better than the carpet mats. The replacement sun visors were also a small, inexpensive and welcome upgrade. Right is new (black) vs the old (tan...ish) To...

    1994 Suzuki Jimny light build

2" spacer got the spare back on the back door. Truck serving duty as the beach runabout (gotta love Nov in Okinawa), ate up the chairs, cooler, inflatable SUP and the floatie. Overall the stance looks better with the tire on, and the suspension feels better with the weight back there...

    1994 Suzuki Jimny light build

So you can find them on ebay but they aren't cheap. I used Amazon Japan and got it for $150 less when you take into account the shipping from the ebay link. Was it worth it? I don't know...I figure its a slow rolling resto of sorts, it makes it unique if nothing else. Especially given the...

Lr3 Heated seats issues? Upgrade seat options?

Depending on the condition of the seats, a sidestep would be to get seat covers like the Wet Okle ones with their own carbon fiber seat heater elements in them. I love my seat covers, and am doing the combo on another truck (fingers crossed that I'm doing it since a Jimny and a Samurai aren't...

    1994 Suzuki Jimny light build

Starting to address the interior a bit. Removed an old non-functional radio and stared at the rat’s nest of wiring associated with it. Decided that is for another day, but did clean it all up a bit, put on a RAM mount, blue sea USB outlet in the 12v space...and added the OE...

    1994 Suzuki Jimny light build

So roping these together; I'd actually like to get a clean JA12, i.e. the coil sprung with the F6A as I'd heard locally that the K6A was a bit more troublesome...not sure if I'm going to have room in the stable here though, too many amazing vehicles and too little time. The tires really are a...

F6A engine, Kei class as you note (hence the yellow plate).

    1994 Suzuki Jimny light build

The work driven move to Japan afforded the chance to start a new build so I'm moving out of just the Rover forum and figured I'd start a thread here. The subject is a 1994 Suzuki Jimny (aka Samurai in the US), in this case with a 1.3l turbocharged engine, automatic transmission, and as you can...

1996 Land Rover Discovery SD 5-Spd

Good looking truck, but with that low of miles and the issues hinted at would probably take some work to get back to something that is reliable. I love mine, but I've laid hands on her for a long time and that level of knowledge is an investment.

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

As a proof of life, and a violation in the sense of not Rover content, but the other vehicle we’d planned on getting (and likely will do light mods before an eventual bring-back) arrived today. Felt it was worth sharing. 94 Jimny with a little baby turbo engine. Roof rack is already off...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

I gotta say, PCS’ing as ‘essential’ amidst COVID was basically a nightmare. Empty airports are awesome, until delays ensue and the food desert becomes apparent. Transoceanic flights with masks...anyway. It was a rite of passage getting from DC to Japan. I will say that two weeks of ROM was...

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

So this thread will likely fall off in terms of updates for awhile. Moved to Okinawa, and decided that the local flora/fauna options dictated a prudent choice up front. So the D3 (& D1, S1, bikes, etc) all are safely tucked away back in the US...and we got a Prado to start with. I guess I’ll...

My oldest playing with a drop in kit on a spare pistol upper, far more enjoyable than shooting 5.56mm out of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That was my thought too, given the amount of material I got it for a good deal, adds some piece of mind.

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

Mounting holes should be the same. Some TIG welds. Biggest issue is I'm about 7,600mi fm the truck at this point...so it may be awhile. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

NAS LR3 build with an overseas twist

It’s a Bearmach-the plate it decent, the mounting points where slightly off b/c Land Rover + Bearmach but ultimately we got it on. Only had to redrill one mounting hole.
