    1124 AF Double Cab

Hi, thanks for all the comments. Yep AV researched it quite extensively before they did it and they have been working to the MB recommendations so expecting it will be to the standard. As per Nathane's comment, they do have a real focus on detail on all of the design so far so should be all good...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Getting there, adding 1 metre so 3.7 up to 4.7. Should mean we are about 8.5m overall but without to much of a rear overhang

    1124 AF Double Cab

HI Joe, thanks for this. Makes sense. Is this similar for others? Is is easy to run an induction cooktop off the electrical system. In the process of getting one designed so can see what we have to build in but interested in any first hand experience of it. Truck starting to progress, on...

    1124 AF Double Cab

HI, on to heating, cooking etc. Looking at gas, electric or diesel as figured it was best to start there and some of the builds seem to make a virtue of being diesel only or no gas. Do diesel cookers and diesel heaters work okay? How much hassle is it having gas on the truck? Any views appreciated

    1124 AF Double Cab

HI Joe, Sitec, thanks for this. Are Natures Head and AIr Head both pretty much the same. Looking at the two, Natures head looks like it needs to come in from a stockist in Germany, both look fairly similar money. Any downsides to them?

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Hi Geo.Lander, that's cool, should see your truck at Atkinson Vos late the year. They are now working on our truck so should be getting the Chassis extended this week which will be great. Had a similar experience with the Outbound windows stretching the budget, hadn't allowed that much but needs...

    1124 AF Double Cab

HI, thanks all, We did something similar Charlie when we went trans Africa with the Land Rover but with kids etc looking to automate. Thanks Neil, looking at similar size 3kg load ones and see what we can fit in. Different question. Back on toilets, looking at Dometic either Saneo or CTS 4110...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Hi SItec, Joe, thanks for both the options, sounds good. Effectively can you just put a normal small washing machine in, guessing that's what the Bosch is Joe. Presuming there is nothing specific on electrical draw, water consumption etc that is specific to putting in the truck? Do like the look...

    1124 AF Double Cab

HI, trying to figure out bits inside so we can make sure they all fit in the design. Looking at washing machines. Seems to be a mix of smaller conventional household ones and ones that more like marine options. Any recommendations. Having spent a year trans africa washing clothes in bucket etc...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Hi, thanks for all the advice, still feel a bit conflicted but coming back towards 385/65/R22.5. Geo.Lander, how are you getting on with the Nokians?

    1124 AF Double Cab

Doh! Back to being conflicted. Thanks for all the advice Neil, Geo.Lander and Joe917. Agree its quite a bit of money and reasonable lead time so trying to make the right decision. Still conflicted between the fact the commercial manufacturers, ie Unicat, Action mobil, Blocklet etc all seem to go...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Hi Neil, thanks for this. useful observation, I'll try and find out on the compound. Trying to see if anyone has any real world experience with them. Re availability, we will carry two spares. Beyond that, thinking if we ship to another part of the world, I'll ship extra tyres only so at least...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Hi, back on wheels and tyres as have to order. I think I'm going with the 20 inch rims, I get the availability benefits of 22.5 but I do want the ability to air down and I think I can manage round availability. So based on 20 inch rims, Atkinson Vos have suggested Mitas 365/80R20 MPT21 tyres...

Hi, hoping someone can help. Building an expedition truck which is covered under the mercedes / unimog section but looking to buy and take a KTM 1190 or 1290 adventure. However struggling to find external dimensions to make the sure the box is going to be big enough. Can find it for GS and...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Hi SItec, thanks for that, hopefully going to work well. I like the Bocklet designs as per below pictures so hopefully by colour coding the bottom section of the garage same as the lockers then looks quite level rather than having a big garage hanging off the back. Atkinson Vos doing a great job...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Hi Joe, Sitec, thanks for comments. This is the design so far so we are looking at accommodating a full size adventure bike (KTM 1290 Adventure) in the garage. I started looking at designs to put it on the back but read quite a lot of comments re the amount of dirt that ends up going on them...

    1124 AF Double Cab

Hi, different question, trying to finalise the truck changes and box design. At the moment I'm ending up with a height of about 3.7 - 3.8m. Its slightly higher than the suggested max of 3.5m but means I can carry a full size adventure bike in a garage below the bed, still have reasonable...
