1998 Isuzu Amigo: Let's Try This Again

Thank you for the compliment! I'm in extreme NW PA, basically on the NY border.

Cool Jeeps You Can't Have - Mahindra of India

Assuming that you want to stay with a Jeep Chassis, I'm confident you are correct. EDIT: with that wheelbase, you are either spot on or a bit smaller and bigger than some solid Toyota choices. This does not, of course, include engine compartment layout, track, and so on. A 1999 Toyota 4runner...

Cool Jeeps You Can't Have - Mahindra of India

I would be fascinated to see if this works, because I'll tell you right now....you would print money with that. And I don't even know how that wheelbase stacks up to anything. If that fits a gladiator chassis....

    Hyundai Santa Cruz

It's going to be interesting to see what the roof can carry (weight wise) and what the rear diff and 4x4 system is like. For instance, there are upgrades for Honda Elements that strengthen the rear diff off of other Hondas. Will that be possible, or needed? How is the 4x4/AWD set up, and will it...

98 Isuzu Amigo - The Darcy Build

I like those wheels a lot. I am torn between something like those, or some of the military-looking ones. I will need to get a little spreadsheet going to compare weights and all that, but some of the solid wheels supposedly don't shed mud well. I've seen that around and about, so I don't know...

1998 Isuzu Amigo: Let's Try This Again

I've used both. I like Rust Bullet...but just because I was using that first. Now, locally, I can get POR-15 and Chassis Saver, and I use them interchangeably. Rust Bullet lays down really smooth, with no brush strokes.

I love these wheels. I am probably going to pull the trigger for actual steelies with a better backspacing. What's the backspacing on these?

    Subaru Outback Wilderness

Without doing a deep dive of the internet to back my point up, it's a different worry than the Bronco Sport supposedly has. The Bronco Sport (and other companies with poopie AWD systems) has a rear diff that overheats. The BS goes into limp mode and shuts off the AWD until it cools down. This...

1998 Isuzu Amigo: Let's Try This Again

More update fun. Had more unsexy things done, like tranny fluid change, ditto for power steering fluid. Oil change, stuff like that. I have a steering wheel shake/shudder/clunk I am unhappy about and it's not fixed or resolved, so that's got to get done. I am remiss in discussing the lighting...

98 Isuzu Amigo - The Darcy Build

I do have that void, though beats the hell out of me what that big box is in the middle there. I have left it alone haha I feel like the passenger side at the very rear would have space for the mid-size ARB compressor. I don't think the twin cylinder will fit, but I have truthfully not...

98 Isuzu Amigo - The Darcy Build

In fact, I will be! But I need to have a local guy put foam in. I'll have a cool update shortly to add to my thread, but I think that I'm going with a mechanical locker instead of the ARB. I don't mind a compressor...aside from all the work to do it. I'm already pinched for space under the hood...

1998 Isuzu Amigo: Let's Try This Again

So, it's been some time since I updated. There's more to do as I slowly get it ready for the spring and summer fun. Here's the current update for how she looks: Sorting out the electrical has been a bit of a pain, especially as I got a new battery with dual terminals...only for it to last...

98 Isuzu Amigo - The Darcy Build

How snug? A different guy on Facebook put (I think) the same cover on and expected it to rub...which is no bueno. Regarding panhard bar: supposedly Calmini has one. No clue what it does or why you'd get it...assuming they do anything other than steal your money. A few others were doing them in...

98 Isuzu Amigo - The Darcy Build

There's a company not so far from me out of Cleveland called Brand X. They're local and build things new. Friends of mine say they're very popular with the tuner scene for those with stupid-big stereos. They also were super receptive with returning messages via Facebook. The fact that they...

Is that tag for the rear axle or for the front? I assume rear...but still very cool regardless!
