Thinking of a locking diff for my 2wd, talk me into/out of it

That is is great for job security! Too many years of job security has me so broken I can't afford to get stuck anymore and the main reason I'm even looking at this. Your vote has been noted. Going down this week to talk to my local shop and hammer down the details

Thinking of a locking diff for my 2wd, talk me into/out of it

Thanks guys, the same thoughts I was having. 5.3 motor that is solid, 8.6" rear and yea I was thinking of the Easton. For about $1k for the kit and then all the supporting pieces and the "might as well since you are here" things. It is always nice to be able to bounce ideas off of those...

Thinking of a locking diff for my 2wd, talk me into/out of it

'02 Chevy 1500 Silverado 2wd. I'm thinking about adding a locking diff for it. I have my Jeep Jk for the true off road stuff but this would be for those times when the 2wd, really 1wd even with the limited slip, gets stuck I can just hit the EZ button and back out. I know it won't be the...

Article #1 Back in July, Jeep confirmed that the 6.4-liter V-8 Wrangler Rubicon 392 Concept was definitely a thing—but today we got our first video, and it confirms the news that the marque has been hinting at: We’re going to be getting a production Jeep Wrangler with a V8 engine, and it’s going...

Ursa Minor Camper Shell for JT Gladiator

The biggest thing to remember when comparing the JT to the Toyota pictured above, the JK/JL and even the Bronco is the JT is a two peice body and the that will flex and roll independently. It you get a top for the JT it will be just like all the other trucks and campers... it has to be without...

    Hi Lift mount selection help

What's wrong with too easy to access across the front bumper? I have mine there just for that reason. If you are worried about it sprouting legs anywhere outside has that issue (as anything else bolted onto it outside). To keep it there when you aren't I use a Bolt cable lock for Jeeps Jeep...

    Land Rover ideas for Jeeps

Yes, an improperly placed system will pull out gradually . I have used picket line ground anchors for years. They are more than solid enough that I have trusted my life, my partners life and our patients life in vertical situations. I have practiced with them pulling my Jeep up hill to...

    Land Rover ideas for Jeeps

Looking at some Picket Line systems I saw that Hurely makes an off the shelf one that was interesting. It doesn't give the mechanical advantage of a traditional Picket line system but is more along the lines like jscherb is talking about. Hurely

    Land Rover ideas for Jeeps

If there is any concern over a single anchor point, and its a good point to consider, use a 2 plate setup with a self equalizing connection to tie into.

    Land Rover ideas for Jeeps

The hook could make it hard to to pound into hard/frozen ground. On the upside it would make it easier to slide a tire iron under there to help recover them. I would not use 3/8ths - 1/2" is a must. Also if you are going to pad up a plate consider allowing the stakes to be put into the ground...

    Land Rover ideas for Jeeps

I have been carrying a picket line set up for years for my ground anchor. Ground anchors are great when there are no boulders or trees. The issue I see with the above set up is the stakes appear to be a little short - I would use about 18" in the ground. Also I would like to see the steel...
