Thanks, I did my platform with the diamond plate rubber and I'm not happy with it. Sounds like a winter mod. Take care! Randy

RRT Top Heavy Jeep, suspension/sway bar suggestions

I actually made straps myself from my Rhino-Rack down that catch the soft top track under the hardtop. Very similar to TrailRax, check them out.

RRT Top Heavy Jeep, suspension/sway bar suggestions

Check out AEV high capacity springs, they're perfect for your combo. I love mine, couldn't be happier!

    Suspension makeover

I was tired of dealing with a sagging rear due to extra weight, I'm glad I went with the high capacity coils. I believe AEV nailed it with these, you definitely need 37's with flat fenders though. Randy

    Suspension makeover

I personally believe the 4.5's are perfect for my rig with 37's. Even not loaded down, it drives great, not stiff at all.

    Suspension makeover

If you're going to be doing a roof top tent, I highly recommend the 4 1/2" HC AEV springs. I just completely redid my entire drivetrain and upgraded to a currie 44/60 setup and 37" tires and it rides great and handles the extra weight without an issue. Randy

    JKU Trail Kitchen build....

I used their standard angle brackets and they seem to hold very well. The only thing I didn't like was the m5 screws and nuts. They're somewhat small to work with, but after awhile you get used to them. I wanted to try the 3 way connectors, but I never ordered any. I would expect those would...

    JKU Trail Kitchen build....

I used a combination of their corner clips and sometimes I'd tap the center spline for a 1/4-20 and countersink it and run it in from the other side. I'll see if I can find a pic and post it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Randy

    JKU Trail Kitchen build....

Thanks! I took care of building and designing the cabinet, but I can't take credit for the woodworking... My father retired and woodworking is his new hobby, lucky me! Your rear platform inspired me to do mine! Good question on the weight, 2 people can easily lift it unloaded. I just...

    JKU Trail Kitchen build....

Thanks and you're correct, it's not 80/20. Check out http://www.zyltech.com, slightly less than an inch. I'm thinking it's around 13/16, but plenty strong enough and much cheaper than 80/20.

    JKU Trail Kitchen build....

I finally got around to wrapping up my trail kitchen and added some attachment points in the back and finished off the cabinet part in molle panels. With all the talk of platforms, I also decided to take out the rear seats and build my own. My platform is only in the rear set area and doesn't...
