Converting a factory JK/JKU hardtop to modular

Thanks, yeah I used the smc all resin. I sill have some 6 ten epoxy and one more mixing tip so I'll give that a shot. I'll just spray some white paint on it if I end up with some visible resin. Thanks again!

Converting a factory JK/JKU hardtop to modular

Well I messed up somewhere. I guess I didn't sand enough off or clean the surface enough afterwards. Is there anything I can do to salvage it, short of breaking it off and starting over?

    Intech Flyer Pursue AC

I have the same a/c in my 2020 Explore. It is very loud inside, but I'm not sure about ear plug loud. I feel like most of the noise comes from the blower not the compressor, so maybe fixing what ever is wrong with it would help some.

    Dreadlocks outfitting of InTech Discover

Here's what I did for water on my Explore. I got a rv quick disconnect shower and mounted it where you are talking about, I cut 3 pieces of 2" dowel rod to put between the inner and outer skin to add rigidity. I bought an extra qd hose section and replaced the hose with a folding faucet. I put a...

JK Front Turn signal wiring question!

Just weak. Iirc the first 2 were broken when I received them and the other one broke after being installed a few days.

JK Front Turn signal wiring question!

Two separate places on the led circuit board and then once on the plug side. The soldier didn't have good adhesion to the contacts and would just peel off. To fix the circuit board side, I cut/broke the lens from the housing, repaired it, and then glued the lens back on.

JK Front Turn signal wiring question!

Don't be afraid to open them up, the connector attaches like a factory bulb. I ended up getting a refund on the same lights last year after the solder kept breaking off. I fixed one side, only to have the other side break 2 days later.

Converting a factory JK/JKU hardtop to modular

Well, I had hoped to use this past long weekend to wrap up my top but I messed up and could definitely use some direction. Friday morning I started out reinforcing the last 3 flanges. I mixed up the SMC compatible resin with about half the recommended hardener as the temps were already in the...

Converting a factory JK/JKU hardtop to modular

I'm finally making some progress on my conversion after many months. Getting the flanges ready. Bonding the first flanges on. I added an additional stabilizer at the bottom front using the measurements from the tube of the jeep. Bonding the rest of the flanges. When I reinforce the flanges to...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

No problem. With the CVT tent on the Smittybilt it would take me around an hour to get camp all set up and about an hour and a half to tear it all down. We would leave the annex attached to the tent and had quite a bit of stuff that we would fill the annex with once it was set up. If we were...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

It depends on what your needs/wants are. We had ours a little over 2 years and enjoyed it. It's pretty much bare bones so its an open canvas for sleeping arrangements, electrical, water, and what ever else you might want to add. I have a 2012 JKUR on 35's and it handled it ok with the stock...

Converting a factory JK/JKU hardtop to modular

Well i got the first flanges done. I think i should have watched a couple of videos on how to do it first because it was definitely a learning experience, still not sure if i did everything right, hopefully it'll hold. JSCHERB have you done a how to video on fiberglass? I saturated it, but i...

Converting a factory JK/JKU hardtop to modular

When creating the first set of flanges how many layers of fiberglass tape did you use? You said multiple and in another spot you said layers 2-4 after the mat, so I'm guessing 3 layers of fiberglass tape? I'm finally moving forward, I've got the forms on and im cutting the mat! Thanks for...

    Recessed box for water outlet

Here is what I went with, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JN7BRJ4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . I've taken the hose off and put a spigot on it.

Barn Door for JK factory hardtops

Looking good. I placed channels in several places around the bottom of my tent and awning. 5 gallon bucket organizers cut in two work well for putting random things in, here I have one for kitchen supplies hanging from my awning. We used a larger closet organizer inside for clothes and other...
