What do you use for a truck gun?

If I carried it'd be an old mossberg 20ga.

Is the TX4x4 club the last to use Citizens Band?

I still see a lot of group events using cb. Hopefully that fades away eventually but until then I'll keep a cb on board.

Recommendations on heaters and how to install.

No smoke detector in mine. I find a tank will last about four days if its really cold and that includes cookiing uses.

    Flashlights advice

Yes, Sanyo Eneloops. AA's. Only way to go. Just be careful not to get carried away.

    Ice chest vs 12v fridge

I can sit in a partially shaded spot and my solar will run my stuff indefinitely.

    Ice chest vs 12v fridge

I love my fridge. Poor ice chests are just taking up room in spare room. I will take an ice chest for a long trip.

Holy! My dog was snickering just looking at that :)

XPCamper goes out of business, files for bankruptcy?

Doable if you're young. Not so much if you're sixty and taking care of elderly parents or raising a family. If you've never been laid off or had a company shut its doors then consider yourself lucky. I never said anything about earning $12 over a lifetime. It was about starting over. Easy to do...

XPCamper goes out of business, files for bankruptcy?

Around here people make that work by having two to four families living under one roof. Drive around a poor neighborhood. At least four cars parked there and everyone is working.

XPCamper goes out of business, files for bankruptcy?

So far the only jobs we've lost were two stacker (pick up box, put on pallet over and over until you develop back problems and repetitive stress injuries) positions. No loss there.

XPCamper goes out of business, files for bankruptcy?

I'm not too worried about automation. We just did a 15 million dollar equipment install. The factory techs can barely make it work. Going to be a while before machines don't need humans keeping an eye on them.

    Need some help

I'm glad you fixed your problem. I'm likely going to have the same issue. I have no issues hitting repeaters but given the antenna location, simplex is likely (just haven't had the opportunity to actually check it yet) to be fairly short range. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of options for...

What is the top tool for a recovery situation? [Poll]

So true. But I wouldn't want to try it in my truck :)

    Double barrel shotgun

I want one when I exit the camper. Nothing creates a pucker factor quite like seeing a double barrel pointed at ya.

What is the top tool for a recovery situation? [Poll]

Do you always carry a winch anchor? The last two times I got stuck in the snow were spur of the moment trips. Solo, no winch anchor (its bulky so I carry it when I think I might need it). No trees close enough to winch to. Hilift and maxtrax and a shovel did the trick though.

What is the top tool for a recovery situation? [Poll]

I carry them all. It really depends on what your conditions are, mud, snow, rocks, sand and I've been on trips where I've experienced all that on a single trip.

    Lets talk about camp lights

I think I still have the mark from touching the nut on top of a coleman lantern. My gas lanterns are rusting away in the shed. I built these lights for barbecuing on a group trip I do. Doesn't blind the cooks like a lantern tends to.

How to address condensation issues in a FWC/similar pop up?

Crack the overhead vent, crack a turnbuckle vent, run the heater and little to no condensation is my experience.

How to address condensation issues in a FWC/similar pop up?

Ventilation is critical. Fix that heater. Mine will dry things out in a hurry.
