    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

I pull mine with my 06 Taco, it is just slightly wider than the truck but I am running 2" wheel adapters making the track 4" wider but allows me to use Tacoma rims.

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Use the customer service form on their website, I have got consistent responses this way. As you say, when I email the same people I don't get a reply. I am guessing that they are track response times from the web site.

Using Blue Sea 187-Series Circuit Breaker/Switch instead of a battery switch

The way I see it crazy high use would be 20 cycles a year, even the standard lithium ion cobalt cells are 400 cycles to 80% capacity is 20 years. LiFePo4 can get to thousands depending on how they are used. So for me the only thing that matters is storing at a high SOC particularly at high...

Using Blue Sea 187-Series Circuit Breaker/Switch instead of a battery switch

Reading the owners manual the Xantrax lets you change all of the charging parameters from 12 to 18 V, so if I understand you correctly this charger should do it. Battle Born lists that they have setting for this charger as well.

    Smittybilt Scout vs. CVT trailer

I have the scout and really enjoy it and wold recommend it out side of the structural failure issue. I am more concerned that 6+ months on they do not have a fix for all trailers (AKA mine) than I am that the issue happened. My trailer has gusset in the location where the tongue bolts to the...

Using Blue Sea 187-Series Circuit Breaker/Switch instead of a battery switch

Thanks for the feedback, the Pro Mainer is going back and I am going to get a Xantrex Freedom XC or HFS charger/inverter combo. I still need to get a fuse/disconnect on the AC in. I am working out the layout in my trailer an making wiring. What is the difference between the XC and HFS aside...

Using Blue Sea 187-Series Circuit Breaker/Switch instead of a battery switch

I emailed Blue Sea and they said it is fine to use as a switch.

Using Blue Sea 187-Series Circuit Breaker/Switch instead of a battery switch

Yeah, I may have to switch out the charger, as you say the Pro Mainer will do 14.1 bulk/13.8 float or 14.6 bulk/ 13.4 float and not the 14.4 bulk/13.6 float as recommended. I plan on figuring out how long it takes to charge the bank vs SOC and combine that with a TP link switch that I can...

Using Blue Sea 187-Series Circuit Breaker/Switch instead of a battery switch

Here is what I settled on, I have the last parts of the system coming in today. Install on my trailer starts tonight! I still need to decide on battery monitor system, what do people like? Let me know if you see any problems with the diagram below, the only thing not listed is a chassis ground...

Anyone using the Redarc Tow Pro Brake Controller

I have the elite and have used in on and off road, it works great and I like having the box hidden. It has an off road feature that allows you to set the braking level based on brake application alone and not the accelerometer.

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Nice work and its great to see more products for the trailer. With the water tank full and the 2 batteries int he tongue box what is the hitch weight and % of the total weight on the hitch? Thanks!

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Maybe I am trying to hold SB to a higher standard than other companies. I would argue that for any safety recalls I would want to be notified. For me the use of this trailer is elective, as opposed to basic transportation that it may be much more difficult for people to choose not to use. To be...

    Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

I have just emailed Smittybilt, at this point with two frame failures I feel that they need to issue a statement, contact owners and direct them to not use the trailers until a fix can be applied. I have been in contact with SB previously about some parts that were missing so they have my...

    Brakes for towing

I have run Hawk HPS and HP+ on my M3, for the truck the extra noise, dust and cost don't seam worth it to me. No doubt the performance is better and if I don't get the performance I am looking for I may go that route.

    Brakes for towing

I have the brake controller and the Tundra brakes installed. Summit Racing had the best price on factory rebuilt calipers, although I am not a huge fan of the red. I went with OEM rotors and pads as I ran out of time before heading out of town so I had my mechanic get them. I think there is...

    Brakes for towing

I have the RedAcr controller in and the Tundra Calipers will be in tomorrow (https://bit.ly/2JNTzLn). I am not a big fan of the red calipers but it was one of the better deals on rebuilt OEM calipers. My mechanic is going to install them next week while I'm on vacation. I am planning on using...

    Brakes for towing

I like that the control module is separate from the control knob so I can mount it behind the dash and put the knob in one of the two blank switch plates to the right of the mirror controls.

    Brakes for towing

I just ordered the Redarc (https://bit.ly/2unpc9M ) and I am heading down to NAPA today to order the Tundra calipers. I need to to brakes soon so for an extra $300ish going to bigger calipers and rotors is a deal!

    Brakes for towing

I picked up a Smittybilt Scout trailer and the braking while towing it behind my 06 Tacoma Double Cab TRD off-road is less than great. Does anyone have recommendations for pad/rotor combos? I have liked Stoptech for sports cars and it looks like they make pads and rotors for the Tacoma. Thanks
