I’m selling my beloved little van home of the last four years — a.k.a. Bella — a live-in ready, custom built Sprinter van geared towards full-time travel or extended road trips. She’s been a wonderful home, office, and play vehicle since designing and building her in 2016/2017, but I need to find her a happy new home as I’m moving into a converted military truck with my partner.
SUMMARY: Bella was designed to be spacious and bright; comfortable for one to two people (with the ability to host groups of 4 or 6); convertible for video calls and office work to lounging on the sofa or dining at the table; well integrated with the outdoors given the full slider and 360-degree window views; and perfect for the foodie / van chef! A two drawer fridge provides plenty of space for fresh food for several weeks, and frozen items thaw slowly in the rear compartment, extending their life. The burly aluminum Cook Partner stove is quick-mounted to the walnut butcher block with easy removal for outdoor cooking, utilizing either the interior or mobile propane tank. A large pantry holds Mason jars for dried goods, herbs and spices, teas, and other shelf items; the large sub-pantry storage area is perfect for backstock, household goods, and body care. Two full size draws were designed to hold glassware, ceramic cups, 6” bowls, 10” plates, plus lots of smaller items without clanking, rattling, or breaking on rough roads — her ride is relatively quiet even on the worst of washboards! There’s a drinking water filter to ensure that clean water is available regardless of your fill source, plus a large tank that will last the water-conscious user from 1 to 2 weeks. An ample garage holds enough climbing, backpacking, running, and motorcycle gear for one-to-two people, and though the rack is now gone, Bella toted a dual sport motorcycle off the rear hitch for most of her days.
The Sportsmobile Penthouse Pop-Top and upstairs bed make for breezy summer nights with lots of light, while the downstairs bed and ability to live in her with the top down makes for cozy winter nights (especially with the heater on!) and the occasional “stealth camping”. Bella’s ride went from okay to great in 2018 with the Agile Offroad RIP Kit, and being able to deflate the tires on rocky road surfaces then re-inflate them afterwards made a considerable difference. All in all, Bella is a super capable and incredibly comfortable adventure van for pretty much anything you can dream up!
