Just FB messaged the seller, and it is still available. Claimed no issues and price is firm. Didn't give the wheelbase and said it was a 4 liter 4 cylinder turbo diesel. (I thought it was 4.9 L??) For you Fuso guys on here is this a good price? From what I have read seems like a good price would be sold by now. So, is the price inflated? I'm not in a hurry and hoping prices for used will go down soon. Could I put a 14' habitat (if I have it go over the frame hump and do a passthrough) and still have a tow hitch? I keep debating between this and an e series cutaway. I have read enough posts that I am starting to feel like I understand the pros and cons of each. Thanks so much for all the great reading.

I have my Fuso A-Liner combo for sale in the classifieds, but no build photos, as I was not the builder.

Ask about past frame repairs and rust. Pretty sure this is the same truck I flew back east to check out over a year ago. I had had several very encouraging conversations on the phone with the owner, enough to warrant flying out to see it in person. Got all the way there only to find that a significant chunk of the frame had been cut out, and new steel welded in. Not necessarily a horrible thing, but the fact that it wasn't disclosed sooner left me pretty suspicious. And if the rust had been bad enough to necessitate such measures, I wondered where else it might still be lurking. The rust in the engine bay was definitely more significant than I wanted to deal with. I walked (er, flew -- an expensive lesson), and to say the seller was uncool about that would be a significant understatement. *Might* be a different truck, but I doubt it.

I hate rust! I was talking with the guy a the collision repair/ body shop my family has used forever about preventing rust on my truck. (I'm from Michigan.) He said they have tried all sorts of methods through the years and settled on one, it was the only one he has found that works.... Buy a cheap winter truck and keep your nice truck in the garage . Thanks for the heads up glennm01, I didn't get a good feeling when I FB messaged the seller. My gut is telling me to pass on this one.

If that was a good one, $18k would be a steal! I’ve seen rust free units go from $32k - $45k for the 05-07 and 08-10 series.

I agree with the 'good deal'. I've seen rust free 2000-2004 FGs with super singles go for <$21,000 in the last 6 months. That truck is a very good deal IMO with '05-07 being the most desirable. Almost 100 lb-ft of torque over the pre-2005s and none of the crappy emissions of the post-2007 trucks. As the dump box is aluminum, just add some composite walls and roof to that, you would already have the floor and super strong corner braces. And 'guests' who are overstaying their welcome, open the back door and hit 'dump'.
