Getting close to needing new tires, the Goodyear Wrangler Kevlars seem to really suck bad in snow and ice.
Shopping in Discount tire my "go to" has been the Falken Wildpeak AT3W.
But then I saw this Goodyear Wrangler Ultra Terrain AT. Seems to fit in the GY lineup somewhere between the cheaper Wranglers and the more expensive Dura trac.
To my untrained eye, it looks very similar to both the Wildpeak and the BFG AT KO in terms of the number of voids and the size of the tread blocks. It also bears the 3 peak "mountain/snowflake" rating (although my sucky Kevlars do too so I'm not sure that means much.)
Price is on par with the Wildpeaks but there's a rebate on the Goodyears.
Anybody have any experience or know anything about this tire?
Here they are side by side:
At this point I'd have to say they look tempting. I like going with a major brand as opposed to a less well known brand like Falken (though I had Wildpeaks on my Suburban and never had any issues with them.)
