Mitsubishi Montero / Pajero 3 rear passenger window pop outs

uncompromise

Having just bought a Gen 3, and starting to plan some modifications, I'm looking for any insight into how to convert the rear passenger windows from partial horizontal pop-outs to full vertical pop-outs like you see in truck toppers. Given the nature of the existing mechanism, I can't imagine it's too difficult to retrofit, but I'm having a hard time finding any build threads or instructions. I'm sure these mods have been done, so any insight would be appreciated.

I think the term to search for is "gull wing window". These guys in Australia make some for Land Cruisers and Land Rovers (looks like no Pajeros): https://www.emuwing.com.au/

Looking at the construction, you could probably fabricobble something together using liftgate supports and glass hinges from common hatchbacks/cuvs, generic weather stripping, and plexiglass or sheet metal (cut to shape).

Here's a related thread on expo: https://expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/gull-wing-windows.163100/

Appreciate the response. I certainly get a lot more searching for gull wing. From the research looks like I’ll have to fabricate my own, however, which should be a fun little project.
