Up for sale is a professionally built, award winning, one-of-a-kind, fat-tire, utility dirt bike. Located in Post Falls, Idaho.

It is shaft-driven rear wheel drive. It has a 5-forward-speed transmission with super-low first gear, reverse, auto-clutch, grip heaters, electric start with kick-start backup, a 2500# winch (with cordless remote) that can be run from front or rear hitch mounts, and a chain saw mount with a quick-release latch and a D-ring tow point built in. It has a keyed ignition with reverse/neutral/oil temp indicator lights in the dash, a thumb-operated choke, high/low headlight that detaches for use as a work light, tail lights, and backup lights that turn on automatically when in reverse. The wide, soft seat is easily removable with a latch, with a tool kit attached underneath. Seat height is a low 31” with a ground clearance of 10”.

It began life as a 1985 Honda TRX250 Utility quad. The frame and swing arm were customized to accommodate a single rear wheel, and from the front down tube forward, the front end from a 1985 Kawasaki KXT 250 Tecate was grafted in. The stock (recently reupholstered) Honda seat was retained, as was the Kawasaki gas tank. Twist throttle was added.

This machine was built 2 years ago, was thoroughly field-tested and fine-tuned over the course of the following year, then completely stripped down, the frame and small parts were blasted and powder coated, the forks and front brakes were rebuilt, a new top end was put in the engine, and frame seals/bearings were repacked or replaced. The front fender is brand new. The fender and fuel tank are Kawasaki green, but have been wrapped in vinyl that can be peeled off when a new look is desired.

The guys at Hooniverse.com found out about this build, and it was nominated for a running in the “2018 Car of the Year” competition, and it won the competition with over double the votes of the second place finisher.

To see what this mountain goat is capable of, here is a video of it crawling down, then back up one of the most challenging trails in the area, Graham Mountain.

This bike is an absolute joy to ride. It’s no race bike, but it’s comfortable, quiet, Honda reliable, no leaks, and it has an extremely low center of gravity. 99% of the parts are over-the-counter replacement parts. I hate to see it go, but I really enjoy building one-off creations, and the funding from this one will go towards something else.

And it’s legal! A new Idaho motorbike title was issued, and it’s ready to be transferred into your name. The Kawasaki VIN on the stem was re-used for the Idaho DMV to inspect, and a brand new motorbike title was issued to that VIN. The Idaho off-road sticker is valid to the end of the year.

I am asking $7000 for this one-of-a-kind bike. It is located near State Line, ID. I’d really rather not ship this, but I guess I could be convinced...
