In this episode we hit the tourist destination of Cusco, meet up with friends, then we all head for the sacred valley where our first stop is the beautiful ancient Inca ruins of Pisac.

Looks like the start of a great trip. I hope to one day go to Machu Pichu. On the night time time lapse, did you try to identify the flashing red light on the right side? It piqued my curiosity but I couldn't see anything from the video so maybe it was from the window picking up the record light on the camera????

Can't wait to see Machu Pichu now. I went in 1985 and did the then 5 day hike in on the Inca trail. We had the trail the various ruins on the hike and MP with only a handfull of peeps. Spent a full day and a half in MP. It was/is one of my best adventures of my life! Even after getting robbed at gun and knife point halfway there by Quechua bandits.

Good eye! It's amazing what shows and that darn red light has shown up before. Of course it's seldom enough that we forget the next time to tape over it. Haha!
Working on the MP episode now!

That's awesome and sounds like a hell of a story! We had some friends do the Inca trail and say it was busy and touristy now. It really bummed us out because we'd read several accounts saying how amazing it was. I'd still do the Inca Trail to give it a chance, but I think we may have missed the boat on it being a raw/real adventure. That being said there are some newer discovered ruins that have a couple day trek that we'd like to do that may still be un visited enough to be what we're looking for. Cheers!

Come along as we leave Goose behind and hike the back way up to Machu Picchu with friends. We find a doggy escort and finally make it to these beautiful mountain top ruins. Where we brave the crowds, and the llamas, to explore this beautiful Inca Ruin. We hope you enjoy the scenery as much as we did.

Wow, looked amazing. The views of the mountains around there were unreal. Could you imagine living in a place like that?

You mentioned a specific time to enter, did you have to leave at a certain time? If yes, how long did you get to stay?

Couple of questions.
What would be a guess as to how much you spent in one year of travel or for the year and a half that you were gone? Just trying to figure what it will cost the wife and I for a similar trip? I will be retiring before we start the trip so the budget will not be that big of an issue but still wondering?
Second question, In your opinion what would be the pro's and con's of shipping to Argentina and driving North VS heading South and shipping in the end?
Keep up the good work, love the videos.....

We'll do a more detailed video, but we estimated $25k a year before we left and it was actually less. One month would be $850 and the next would be $2,000.
It depended on the country, how much we drove, fuel costs etc. #1 cost by far was fuel.
It also depends on you and how you travel. We almost never paid for camping, cooked almost all meals at the truck and avoided most tourist areas. On the other hand we moved camp almost every day increasing our fuel costs.
We have friends who rarely move camp, but love eating out and eating well who say food is their #1 expense by far. Also, we know folks who considered this a one time trip before heading home and so they did everything they could spending tens of thousands more on side trips.

So, anywhere from $15k to 100k. ? It's quite a range.

No big changes going north vs south except that some folks we've met who start with the most first world countries like Chile really get frustrated when they hit the less developed countries and their quirks. Do it whatever direction you've always dreamt it going. I admit we always pictured hitting the southern tip as the "end."

Two very cool interviews! Nice to see folks coming North to enjoy what we have to offer. Very nice rig and well laid out!
