Hey all!
I'm (fairly) new to the Jeep side of things, and figured I'd drop in to say hello. I purchased my first Jeep back in February of last year, and have been gearing it up towards overlanding/camping. I came over from the Nissan side of the fence, as my previous vehicle was a 2010 Nissan Titan that was similarly modified (lift, rack, lighting, etc). I'm loving the WK2 so far. It's a capable little SUV, and does everything that I've asked it to thus far, with the added bonus of returning 30+ mpg on the highway. Even though that has fallen to 27-28 mpg highway with recent modifications, I still couldn't be happier.
I'm notoriously bad at taking progress pictures, but I did remember to shoot a few on the day I brought the Jeep home, and there are a couple from last week. It's come a long way in not a lot of time, and with the recent addition of the Gobi rack, I'm finally ready to take him out for an initial shakedown this summer. I'm in the planning stages right now.
For those that are interested, here's a list of pertinent mods off the top of my head:
Performance:
GDE Hot Tune
GDE Transmission Tune
AFE CAI
Body/Armor:
Blackout (chrome window trim wrap is pending)
Gobi Stealth Roof Rack
SRT (functional heat extraction) hood swap
Full skids (Mopar/Chief Products)
Wheels/Tires/Suspension:
Black Rhino Mozambique 18x8.5, +30 offset
Cooper AT3, 275/65R18
ICON suspension on all 4 corners (cranked up approx 1-1.25" up front)
Electrical:
sPOD Bantam
40" Rigid E-Series PRO hybrid bar
x2 Rigid D-SS PRO Spot (hood mount)
x2 Rigid D-Series PRO Amber spot (upper grille mount)
x4 Rigid SR-Q PRO satellite lighting (x1 L/x1 R on separate switches, x2 rear on same switch)
Expedition Gear (not pictured):
CVT Mt Shasta Extended Summit Series (Stargazer) RTT
CVT 55" awning
Gobi-mounted Axe/Shovel
ARB Fridge
A boatload of recovery gear
That's far from a comprehensive list (I may edit and add a few things if I forgot anything, but it covers the major things. I still have a handful of priority mods lined up, once the right items show up on the market. All work has been done by myself. I'm not a fan of outsourcing work on my builds.
Looking forward to gleaning some knowledge from the Jeep community here. I'm hoping to make an apperance at Overland Expo EAST, if work can spin the time off from work, so maybe I'll see some of you there!
