No idea about the Pathfinder but the Frontier/Xterra frames were unchanged from ‘05 until ‘15 for the X and ‘05 to ‘21 for the Frontier. The 2022 may also use a derived variant of the same frame or possibly the same frame outright.
Counter point, why are Toyota’s so expensive? What makes them so great that they are selling for roughly MSRP after 50,000 miles and 5 years of use?
I’ve never understood the Toyota tax. Sure they’re generally reliable but so are any number of other vehicles out there.
As others have noted...
Strawberry milkshake of death. The internal trans cooler lines would develop leaks and coolant would mix with trans fluid creating a pink frothy liquid that’s kills the transmission. This issue is resolved on post 2010 model years. This doesn’t effect manuals. As far as the manual reliability...

I’d stay FAR away from Calmni (lots of horror stories in the Xterra community). I also would suggest a pre 2017 Armada. The redesigned model has a lot of weaker front end components. In poking through the Armada forums QC isn’t quite there either.
I think you’ll find that the simulated limited slip system (ABLS) on the Frontier will be more than sufficient in the snow. By all accounts it’s very effective. I don’t get snow down my way much but it does great off-road and in sand.
Bumper was painted with Rustoleum spray on bedliner.
Winch is a Smittybuilt X20 10,000 lb mounted to a WAM hidden winch mount. Custom wiring and controls via the attached diagram. I have in cabin, wireless, and wired controls.
Custom mattress made from a 2.5” memory foam mattress topper.
Hatch mounted LEDs work for both interior and exterior lighting while camping.
Auxiliary fuse box added for some future mods
Another big one. “Hidden” winch mounted with custom in cabin controls.

I was big into the off-roading scene in my younger days but moved to the more speed and street scene when I moved to a larger city. Well my brother in law has always been into Jeeps and I decided to get back into the off-roading scene. I decided to take the plunge last fall and after lots of...
