N.A. Diesel in North American Series Trucks?

I don't think it was possible, they left North America (USA at least) before the 2.5 was produced. I think the 2.25d might even have been discontinued as an option before they withdrew from this market too.

N.A. Diesel in North American Series Trucks?

I haven't run into a place that couldn't. The Lucas/CAV DPA pumps used to be used on everything. For any place that deals with tractors these are a piece of cake. The last quote I had was $300 for a full rebuild with Viton seals too. I didn't think that was too bad.

N.A. Diesel in North American Series Trucks?

On road MPG or off? On road carefully driven a well tuned 2.25 petrol can get high teens sometimes even higher. Go offroad all day at low speeds and the diesel's advantage widens.

Expedition Portal: The Land Rover 109 IIA Build

1.15 series high range x's 4.7 diffs= 5.4 ratio (as compared to other brand vehicles that typically have a 1:1 high range ratio [Interestingly the early Jeeps were 5.38, 4.27, and 4.88 IIRC- perhaps that gives some perspective]) with a LT230 you'd likely have 1.22 high range ratio(the others...

    Yet another 109 build Thread

In the old days leafsprung LRs would often bring at least 2 spare main leafs in case they ran into such a problem. Sometimes you see them mounted to the front bumper in old films.

A good spring place sould ave the specs they need to build you a set. Back in the 1990s I contacted a place here in NY and they could build LR springs no problem. Alcan has LR specs and can build them too and fine tune them to your specific vehicle's weight distribution and needs.

I think GBR makes a 4.75 R&P that don't require the spacer ring. Also IIRC you need different bearings or races when swapping coiler 3rd to leaf sprung trucks. Ashcroft or someone has all the info on their website.

    Thoughts on Transplants- 300Tdi vs. 3.9 v8

FWIW The 5.7 isn't a commercial truck engine it is a light duty V8, like the Rover V8 is. The 5.7 certainly isn't any "rougher" and really isn't that much bigger(though ~200lbs heavier?) Generally speaking the Rover V8 is closer in performance to American 6 cylinder engines of the same era...

    Banned land rover 130

Yeah maybe- I know one thing though I haven't met a Series Rover with a good original chjassis yet in NY but I have seen a lot of CJs and other C channel chassis vehicles still running on good original frames. I've pulled CJs out of hedgerows that have had way better frames than any Similar...

    its a shame....

Because a lot of stuff scrapped is NOT beyond saving. I've seen nicer 88's than this one crushed when the price of scrap was way up. $200 is too little to offer for it- the person who owns it apparently has an emotional attachment to it or an irrational idea of what it is worth. You'd...

    Banned land rover 130

That 88" rusted out in that area- probably because of crap that got in through the grommet in the hole the rear wiring harness goes into. I've seen 4 or 5 other NY 88s that looked more or less the same there. It makes me wonder if you's be better off to run the harness outside of the frame...
