    Snow Peak Addiction

I'm using the Pelican iM2750. I've got my bbq box, flat burner, bamboo slide table, various S*P plates/bowls, pots, a couple of coffee making solutions, knife, hatchet, lanterns, torch, and bunch of other knick knacks stuffed in there. For the IGT itself, I'm using the Snow Peak Jikaro carrying...

    Snow Peak Addiction

Hey everyone. I've been a snow peak fan for a long time, but only recently started getting items that were more than cutlery and bowls/plates. I got a 3 unit IGT recently, and just put together all the IGT necessities. Hoping for a nice winter camping trip soon. In the Pelican I've got a Snow...

Costa Rica - Nomad America 4x4 rental

We're here for 9 days only. We stayed in a hotel tonight in Liberia for a freshen up after 4 (sweaty and dusty) days out. Two more nights of camping and then we end in Santa Teresa for a couple of nights in a hotel. Happy wife happy something or other. We're excited to finally be back on the...

Costa Rica - Nomad America 4x4 rental

We're back in CR! When checking out our Hilux, I noticed the driver's side CV boot was off and axle grease was everywhere. The guys immediately took it into the shop and dropped us off at a local soda where they bought us lunch. So far I'm loving this Hilux. I miss the power and speed of my...

What are you using for a coffee maker and coffee brand when camping/overlanding?

Nice. I brought Silencer Smooth with me the past few days. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

What are you using for a coffee maker and coffee brand when camping/overlanding?

At VOR this weekend I used a French press from REI. I've also used an Aeropress on a few solo/couple trips with great results. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Update: Ended up booking the Hilux. I was looking forward to having a Defender, but with only two of us I couldn't justify the cost since our other couple backed out. So, I've basically got the same truck as mine (2014 Tacoma Off Road) but a diesel and manual transmission. Can't wait! If anyone...

SOLD. 1999 Land Rover Discovery Series 1, fully built and expo ready, FL, $12,500

Wow, that is a gorgeous rig. GLWS. I'd scoop this up in a heartbeat if I could find a way to keep a third vehicle on the Brooklyn streets. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Load range E on a tacoma?

Do you carry a lot of heavy loads? I ran a set of Copper Discoverer ATP in that size with a standard load rating and really ate them up. A 10k mile Overland trip nearly balded them and I replaced them at just under 30k miles. My Discoverer AT/3 tires in 285/75r16 look excellent with 20k miles on...

That's absolutely fantastic. I can't wait until next winter to do the same. I'm so glad you and your family had a great time. I actually plan on teaching my wife how to drive stick in one of their Defenders since both of our cars (2013 Subaru Impreza and 2014 Toyota Tacoma) are automatics...

There should be a few places you can grab a map, but it might actually be the only road that goes from Malpais to Montezuma. I believe you start at the big intersection between Malpais and Santa Teresa and you end near the Montezuma waterfalls. Happy traveling!

Awesome! I hope you take the jungle roads from Malpais to Montezuma, I did that on an ATV and it was a blast. Can't wait to hear about your trip.

Hey there! We haven't made it back down yet, but we're hoping for a trip next winter. 2016 was an expensive year for us, and it's really strange to have zero planned trips thus far in 2017.

    12,000+ miles 45+ days, SoCal > Alaska.

Did I see you upstate over the weekend? I saw what looked to be your FJ pass me the opposite way on the highway not too far from the PA border. I was headed to Gander Mountain in Middletown. Anyway, what a trip you made. Love seeing NY Toyotas conquering the country.
