That entire trip was pretty much a PERFECT way to spend 2 weeks. Splitting time between the red rock in Utah and the high alpine of Colorado was such a cool contrast. You really can't go wrong with any of the stuff we did on that trip.
As far as when the Rim Rocker opens, based on what I read...
I just finished editing part 1 of a video highlighting a long weekend Overland trip we took exploring some of the more remote parts of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. This was one HELL of a memorable day. Basically, just one big misadventure. But hey, that's what makes it fun, right??
Finally, we got to the Mojave Road. This was what this ENTIRE trip was planned around. It had been on my bucket list for a few years, and getting to cross it off the list was incredible! Here is part 1 of 2:
Oh man, you'll love it. The Rimrocker Trail is the PERFECT way to connect Moab to Colorado ... as long as you don't mind taking 2 days to get there. Highly recommend it. Of everything we did on that trip, I'd have to say the highlights for me were the White Rim Trail and Imogene Pass.
Thanks...
After departing the Alabama Hills, we found an INCREDIBLE stargazing camp in the Eastern Sierra. Truly one of the most memorable nights we've ever spent camping.
It's Colorado high mountain pass season! Thought I'd share the "finale" from this trip from last Summer over Ophir Pass.
This is a fun one, and much more "tame" compared to Imogene Pass. Still, beautiful scenery and a great "connector" road!
For anyone interested in following along, here is the next video from our trip! In this one, we:
Explore a beautiful (and narrow) ridge-top trail with EXPANSIVE views of the Eastern Sierra
Visit Manzanar, an internment camp used to house Japanese citizens during WW2
Play around and search for...
Yeah, that was our first time in the Sierra's and we can't wait to go back. It was incredible!
Flying the drone definitely takes some time to get comfortable with, but once you don't have to consciously think about the controls it gets way easier. Just repetition (and trying not to crash)...
Hey all,
A few months back some friends and I took a 2 week trip down to Southern California to get off-pavement and explore. The trip was filled with great times, incredible views, amazing dispersed campsites, one MASSIVE dust storm, and a few big challenges / setbacks.
I've been working on...
So, Toyota just announced the new Sequoia and honestly, I'm really surprised by some of the off-road credentials this thing seems to have. So much so that I put together a video with all the details (that Toyota has revealed so far), and my thoughts on whether this looks to be a good Overland...
For those following along, next up after we finished the Rimrocker Trail was the iconic Imogene Pass.
Incredibly beautiful? Check!
A bit butt-puckering? Check!
Here's a link to the full video documenting our time in Telluride as well as our trip up and over Imogene Pass.
Cheers!
Thanks!
I think you'll get through with no issues. I can't recall any tight spots height-wise on the trail. There might be a few sections where brush encroaches on the trail, but as long as you're OK with some mild pin-striping, I can't imagine you'd have any issues.
One thing to note is that...
