    2014 Toyota Tundra SR5 Build

Nice Tundra! That bumper came out nice!

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I think you’re confusing GVWR with towing capacity. In 2012, max-tow f150’s had a GVWR of 7700 lbs and were rated to tow 11,300 lbs.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

GVWR is the gross vehicle weight rating. That’s rated weight capacity of just the vehicle. GVWR minus the curb weight = available payload capacity. For 2012, the HDPP f150’s had a 8200 lbs GVWR, which equated to around 2100 lbs of payload capacity. They are pretty rare but easy to spot due to...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I agree with what T&N said, only way to get 3.73s behind a 3.5 EB is with the HDPP (the new f150 tremor comes with them and the 3.5 EB). 20’s are easy to swap out. I would avoid the sunroof though. Several folks I know that have had the sunroof in f150‘s and super duty’s have had a lot of...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Max tow and/or HDPP also came with the thickest wall frame available on that generation of f150, even thicker than the raptor. I think it was 0.180” vs 0.155” for the raptor and 0.135” for non-max tow trucks.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

Wow, only 4500 miles?! I kind of wish I could keep the miles off like that but we use our vehicles a lot and I simply enjoy driving them.

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I think the 6.2 was a little hotter than that for the F150, same specs as the Raptor I believe. It was derated a little for the f250/350 and derated even more for the f450/550 cab and chassis models. I don’t think the 5.0 was as powerful in that generation as you posted either. I owned a 2012...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

That could be a possibility. Beyond remote start and other conveniences, being connected to google and Toyota, will they constantly monitor our driving habits, locations, miles and who are they sharing that information with? Your insurance? Is this the gateway to getting taxed per mile driven...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

I also really dislike this subscription based function. I can see having to pay a monthly or yearly fee for an app based service, just like I do now with DroneMobile. It’s a convenience that I’m willing to pay for not only for remote start but I can double check if I locked the truck or not, and...

    F150 - 2.7L vs 3.5L vs 5.0L

I also had a 2012 with the 3.5. Initially, it got 19 mpg but after many, way too many trips back to the dealership for numerous issues, a couple reflashes and it was down to 11.5 mpg with 33” tires. In the 45k miles over a span of 2 years, it became unreliable. When it was running right, the...

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

It doesn’t appear to be. I can see a seam in the bed side panel and I’m betting the front is the same. The one good thing about this arrangement is that it should be a little easier to fit high clearance bumpers to the truck.

Need Advice: '21 F150 XLT mods (and woes)

If it were me, I’d swap the wheels for ones with more positive offset, like the OEM wheels, and keep the taller tires. Even if it means sticking with OEM wheels. The wheel bearings, ball joints and tie rods will thank you as well. As for skid plates, RCI makes some good ones. We run them on our...

    2020 Tundra TRD Pro Build

Looks good! I like the 37’s on the factory wheels with the lift, it’s perfectly proportional.

    (partially) new Tundra coming?

I don’t think the coils will be exclusive to just the TRDP. All the camouflaged trucks have the rear suspension hidden.

    92 K1500 DD/Overland Temp

I once owned a 1992 z71 extended cab and I could get in the back seat pretty easily. Just about everyone could that I remember. I had the front bench seat that was split 60/40, the passenger seat would slide forward and the backrest would tilt forward.
