Our formula for minimum pulling capacity is:
GVWR x 1.5 = minimum pulling capacity
So if your GVWR is 5,500 lbs you're looking at a minimum of 8,250 lbs. Again that's our minimum, so we'd recommend a 10,000 lb. winch for your application.
The customer service team are going to have the most expertise on this and would likely be the fastest to respond to you vs. me going to have to find the answer myself. It was done in the interest of helping the customer in a timely fashion. :)
