    Suburban roof rack questions.

So I had heard, or maybe misunderstood, a good guideline is to keep weight on the roof at 200lbs or less. Can't say where I learned that it's just something I've had in my head so this surprised me when you said 600-800lbs. Do you feel the handling or anything is changed much by having that much...

Suburban vs Excursion for Family of 8

I think most of the extra space is between the third and second rows. I am 6' 1" and can comfortably sit in the the third row. In our suburban I could fit but just barely. It is a bit easier putting the car seats/booster seats and a bit more space between each kid which is good. Also I think...

Suburban vs Excursion for Family of 8

Congrats on the new rig. Family of 7 here with a few carseats to throw into the mix. Just went through the same process you did finding a new ride. We previously had a 96' k1500 Suburban and it was a great rig that took us all over the place and some places we shouldn't have tried to take it...

    2002 Ford Excursion New Rig

So I had some time over Christmas break and decided to build a roof rack for the Excursion. I want to put a disclaimer that I am no welder, and this is the first welding project besides real small stuff I have ever done so I think the results reflect that. The goal of this project was to get...

    2002 Ford Excursion New Rig

Thanks that makes a lot of sense, amazing what a bit of warmth will do when working with plastic. Just had the front drive-line gone through with new u-joints and had them extended it a bit. The previous owner lifted it but didn't extend the drive shafts so there wasn't much room for travel...

    2002 Ford Excursion New Rig

So I've been lurking around here for some years as I used to have a 68' Jeep Wagoneer which I loved but my family outgrew (Wife and I plus 5 kiddos). After squeezing the life out of an old 96' Suburban with 310,000 miles on it we finally decided to get something new (at least to us) and picked...

    Thoughts on a 2-stroke

I'll get it running and re-evaluate from there. It is looking like it will be enough work just to get it running, and this thing was never meant to be a road bike. Looking forward to it as a project though, I like old stuff. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    Thoughts on a 2-stroke

@haven That is a good point I hadn't considered. I'll have to check that out and if it doesn't add one. I am in the Central Valley of California so we have had our fair share of wildland fires in the sierras above us. Pretty nasty actually because all the smoke comes down off the mountains and...

    Thoughts on a 2-stroke

That's what I have heard and read. I have ridden street bikes for the last year or so, but my off-road time is pretty limited so I think there will be a learning curve. A power band like that doesn't seem like it would be great for climbing technical trails either.

    Thoughts on a 2-stroke

Hi there, just found Expedition Portal the other day and this site is great, Me and my family (Wife and 4 kids) love exploring and take every chance we can to get out. That being said, I was just given a old 79' Yamaha YZ-400-F, it's a 2-stroke dirt bike. With a price of free I couldn't turn it...
