Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Does anyone know what kind of weight you can put on the roof of the Canopy Camper with the stock lift struts? I can't seem to find any details in their literature. I would love to be able to add their roof tray so we can haul our two inflatable SUPs up there instead of inside the camper. I am...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

This is amazing and something I had been considering for awhile. GG also teased doing this, but never brought a product to mkt. Do mind sharing details on how you made this work? I would be super grateful. Thanks!

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Thanks! I really need to update that, but kind of switched over to doing it on IG. Yep, same here. Selling that spot in line was so worth it. No regrets.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Thanks! So, I have a lot of details on the drawer module & utility module (and the base plate for that matter) at the link below https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wackyhackys-2013-tacomarado-build.626371/page-8 My base plate is 1/2" birch plywood, coated with a heavy duty bed liner. I...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Thank you! I love seeing every custom build as well. So many ways to go with this camper design & make it your own. That's been my experience so far as well. We have had some damp 40s on that recent trip back east and a couple nights in mid to high 30s here in CO and never had an issue...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

So, it's funny this is a current topic of discussion on here, b/c I actually was searching on the topic of insulation, ideas etc. and frankly whether doing so is even worth it at all if you don't plan on living out of it or camping during the coldest months of the year. I watched those...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

I definitely have to agree what you are both saying in regard to the 80/20. I am always trying to encourage people to do their own build. It's so easy to work with once you start playing with it and you don't need a ton of tools either. Being able to build it out exactly how you want is not...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Huh, I would like to think so, but I have got some marks on the one side of my tent but maybe they are from being pinched in the shocks too. I do appreciate that inside. With bedding & our exped mattress up there, we always have to tuck on both sides before shutting the lid.

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

This made me think of another frustration I have which is the black plastic caps used on the bolt heads. I am just not sure there is a good solution. Specifically the ones up under the lip of the roof. I lose 1 or 2 every time I open or shut the camper, but I do think they are necessary, but...

Introducing the “NEW” Alu-Cab Canopy Camper

Yeah, I saw one of these recently & will definitely be moving to one eventually. It's not a ridiculous price for what it is. It also eliminates one more thing protruding from the camper causing clearance issues, etc. Real nice idea.
