What do you plan to use for motor mounts, custom fab some? Also, I know the strength of the LS motor as a platform, but why did you ultimately choose to use a GM drivetrain? This looks like it’s gonna be an awesome build! Love me some OBS goodness :)

I’ve been waiting for someone to build up a SpaceKap for overlanding. This looks great and I’m very surprised it weighs so little.

I would definitely contact the manufacturer about the anomaly in the unit. They might walk you through a fix, or if not I would expect a replacement.

The PCM is the car’s computer, similar to an ECU, only the PCM is a control module for the entire Powertrain so engine, transmission, sometimes even ABS. If it gets wet and fried your car will no longer run. I believe EFI didn’t come till ‘85 so you probably have a carburetor on there anyways...

Gotcha, yea comfort on the road is #1 for me too. As soon as I went to a memory foam mattress I never looked back. What specs did you figure out for the motor? Have you thought about running one of those TBI bolt on injection systems like a Holley Sniper or FiTech? I’m curious to see how they...

The official line from Ford is up to the hubs is the max recommend for water wading depth due to water penetrating the hubs, though honestly, the PCM near your left foot and the distributor is where your limits really are.
