    NMBDR by Land Rover

Great pics and great write up. In particular I enjoyed the pic of the campsite in the Birch trees. Its so refreshing to see a campsite and not see 400 other campers/tents in the background. As far as the food goes: Better off having it and not needing it then the other way around. There is...

Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Roof Top Tent

Only thing I can think of is pipe insulation. However I would be scared of it rolling/spinning as you step on it.

Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Roof Top Tent

You taught me something. I was under the impression that the condensation formed on the walls of the tent and then rolled down to the floor. To get the accumulated water off of the floor, the mattress was raised up by the mats to allow the condensation/water to evaporate instead of being trapped...

My Big Bend article in Toyota Trails magazine.

mep1811, I enjoyed your article. You should warn people that it ends on a cliffhanger :P. I look forward to reading more. That leads to a question: Is Toyota Trails available to any joker, or just to people in the Toyota group? I enjoyed the magazine and would like to find back issues. Cheers.

Trans-New Hampshire Expedition (Canadian border to sea coast)

Trip looks amazing. Whats up with the chains on the roof of the building on Mt Washington?

    Our Journey to Moab

Great write-up and great pics! Utah is fantastic. Its almost like being on another planet. All things being equal, I prefer Colorado as there are more trees and wildlife. Its cool that your only "damage" could have been repaired with chewing gum. That's the kind of trail damage I prefer.

    Why use a RTT?

I think it boils down to trade offs. I like the hard top and the super fast set up and take down of the Maggiolina, however they tend to be on the small side compared to most of the fold open fabric style tents. IMHO, you should base your decision on how much time you actually will spend in...

    Why use a RTT?

The big negative to a car mounted RTT is that once the RTT is set up, the car is out of commission. So, if you need to run into town to grab some ice, it is a bit inconvenient to pack it up and then come back and re-deploy.

    Why use a RTT?

Most of the time, the car is carrying the tent, so carrying it really isn't too hard. Most people have a RTT because they are more comfortable, not less.

    Why use a RTT?

Rick speaks the truth. I have a 4 man CVT with 2 ladders. That thing is pushing about 200 lbs. Once I put it on the trailer, I knew it was never coming down. It took 5 people to lift it up there. That said, we love it. Its a 4 man tent, but I bet we could fit 6 in a pinch. The kids love the...

    Skool me on Skottles

I have one of those at home. Only we call it a garbage can lid. J/K :P I like your design that can go directly in the firepit.

Sure-Fire Ways to Improve Your Roof Top Tent

Hard to tell in your pic, but do the yoga mats have thousands of holes in them? If not, you really arent doing anything to prevent condensation. if they do not have holes in them, get crazy with a drill or sharp pencil and make a bunch of holes in the mats to allow air to get in there and...
