2004 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 DiD ground strap location

Thanks @CharlieNorth. Went through the process of cleaning the terminals, and replacing the battery clamps; have also ordered a new battery as the existing one was only 640 CCA and this vehicle is recommended to have a minimum of 750. Have also reset the ECU. Negative cable is correctly grounded...

2004 Mitsubishi Pajero 3.2 DiD ground strap location

Looking for any information on this. My wife had the battery replaced recently (failed while in Barcelona!), and now we're having issues with the starter. The battery, alternator, belts, clamps are all new and functioning normally, all of the fuses are ok, and the vehicle kicks straight over...

[solved] Gen 3 Montero / Pajero / Shogun electric seat issues

Turns out it was a simple matter of the old switch failing. Removed it, cleaned the contacts, and reinstalled - no dice. So bought a used one for $30 on eBay and replaced it. Problem solved.

    Rambo Penguin's Gen 3 Build!

Would love to get more details on the bed components if you have a moment. Have a Gen 3 Montero/Pajero and have been labouring over the design of the bed for months. Keeping the 2nd row seats in, and maintaining access to the underfloor storage seems like an impossible design challenge. Do you...

[solved] Gen 3 Montero / Pajero / Shogun electric seat issues

The passenger side powered seat is now unusable - all electrics have failed, and we can‘t use the seat since the last time we adjusted it was for carrying cargo. So we have a car with two seats, one of which no longer works. Any ideas on a manual override, or how to check what the issue might...

Strength of Gen 3 stock spare tire mount

Reactivating an old thread — curious to know what solutions have come up since then. We have a Gen 3 and are looking for cost-effective and safe way to carry a 20 litre jerrycan either on the back door, or mounted to the spare. Commercial solutions are difficult to come by, and I’ve not yet seen...

Stock 2004 Pajero 3.2 DiD One owner, never taken off road. Purchased six months ago. Based in the south of France Planned modifications are pretty simple, including: 1. Insulate entire vehicle with Thermafleece so we can head into the mountains during the winter 2. Remove side steps and replace...

    [solved] Insulating a 2004 Pajero / Montero

We have decided to go with https://www.thermafleece.com/product/thermafleece-ultrawool-high-density-sheep-s-woolThermafleece Ultrawool insulation over Thinsulate for a number of reasons, primarily: - it’s natural not synthetic - it’s recyclable - it’s readily available here in France - it’s...

Removing Gen 3 Montero / Pajero spare tyre cover

Thanks for the feedback; it’s actually just the chrome cosmetic cover that sits over the wheel. I’m living in France where the cost of replacing something like that is pretty significant if we thought it would help with the resale value. Interestingly, most people who own this particular...

Removing Gen 3 Montero / Pajero spare tyre cover

The spare wheel key is no longer working, which represents a pretty significant issue. I’ve searched everywhere to see if there is an answer to removing it without a key that doesn’t involve destroying it. Given the need to have access it’s going to get hit with a power drill tomorrow if I can’t...

    [solved] Insulating a 2004 Pajero / Montero

There are dozens — if not hundreds — of threads about this already, I know. And I’ve read through many of them. I’m looking to re-insulate our car. Having already removed the floor and the interior trim, what little insulation there is, is inadequate for the type of travel we want to do. In...

Or, alternatively, can someone point me towards a reliable Thinsulate supplier in the US who will ship to France?

    Thinsulate supplier in Europe

Am looking for an affordable supplier of Thinsulate in Europe. Wanting to re-insulate my Gen 3 Pajero, but can’t find anything that isn’t egregiously priced compared to what I see for purchase online in the USA (none of which seems to ship to France). Any leads appreciated.
