Hey Jeff, where in the Mojave/Death valley are you going? I was going to add that to EJS myself again this year, we did DV last year and the Mojave Road last fall and the guys I was with are doing more of it this year after EJS but i have to come back here on Easter.
LOL, thanks but if i were to go that route Id just use the beloved parasite's Explorer thats already here under a tree.... Tell me about your ZJ though, just in case
thanks dsal, I actually already have a rear 44 out of a Scout in it and have upgraded the front somewhat so I'm not worried there right now, in fact Im generally very happy with it overall. Some more power on the road, better economy and reliability and Id be pretty satisfied. The changes Ive...
Thanks Jeff, thats very generous! Im starting to casually look around at options now, LJs are scarce around here and even used, the new ones are still out of my financial reach, but since I stripped the Scrambler of its recovery gear and spares its a lot more pleasant driving.
Thanks happykamper, I'm sure youre probably right
Good deal Jeff, Im working the same two trails next year, Cameo Cliffs on Monday and Deadman's Point on Wednesday, beyond those I will likely be open
Ahhhhh, thats some serious drilling Jeff, Id have gotten bored and done about.....3 holes or theyd be uber crooked, or maybe AND theyd be uber crooked...
It wasnt the Rock Slider set up though they sound similar, the one im thinking of was a LONG time ago, 20 years or more by now most likely. I...
Naters, if you want to move that Rover give the guy who runs the Land Rover Ranch inLas Vegas New Mexico a call, I cant recall his name just now but hes a good guy and does great restoration work, he may be interested
Wow, thanks guys and yeah mtbxj87, you do have a point.... Thanks for the kind words on the Scrambler and Thank you Jeff for posting the pic. The Scrambler is by far the best, most well suited to me Jeep I have owned with the possible exception of my full sized Cherokee chief but thats been gone...
Im considering a change in Jeeps, I have an 82 Scrambler with a mild build, lockers suspension, axle, engine etc, very streetable and I drive it everywhere, wheel it and drive it home. I just got back from 2 weeks in Mojave/Death valley living in it in fact. 600 miles to Laughlin NV to meet the...
always think Jeff, always!! Maybe I missed it but where do you find the Alum grid material? That looks like its worth its weight in gold.
FWIW, there was an outfit years ago, maybe bestop when they were still a small quality outfit in Colorado but I wouldnt swear to that. They made a spare...
the Thule mounts I put on my fiberglass camper shell used a simple flat SS washer and flat rubber or neoprene washer on each side of the shell to seal the bolt penetrations. Worked fine, no leaks then when I removed them I fulled the holes with regular RTV
been a while
Its been about 400 pages since I posted pics of mine and it doesnt look much different but here it is again anyway camping on a week long trip in SE Utah and two weeks in the Mojave and Death Valley (Soda Dry lake wasnt dry....)
