Dometic CFX50 W Problems With Cooling Only 4 months Old

Thanks for the input. Undersized wire was not the problem. I ran a new heavy gauge wire direct from a dedicated AGM battery to a BlueSea fuse box, then heavy gauge wire to the aux lighter plug. It worked before even when connected to the factory Aux lighter plug which has tiny guage wire.

Dometic CFX50 W Problems With Cooling Only 4 months Old

I was in Big Bend a couple of months ago. The weather was warm during the day but cooled off in the evening. I don't think I would want to be camping without AC in Big Bend this time of year.

Dometic CFX50 W Problems With Cooling Only 4 months Old

Upadate: Thanks for all of the feedback. REI was great and willing to take back the unit and order a replacement. However, since I told them Dometic Support concluded the problem was likely a circuit board defect (apparently they have had a number of circuit board problems), REI recommended I...

Dometic CFX50 W Problems With Cooling Only 4 months Old

I purchased a Dometic CFX50W refrigerator/freezer January 29, 2019. I have used the cooler once over two days while in Big Bend. I planned to use it again this past weekend but ran into trouble. I loaded drinks, yogurt, meats, and cheese for my weekend trip Friday morning. I then paired the...

Vehicle Portable Battery Options for Keeping a Dometic CFX 40 Refrigerator Charged

The jumper cables came with the battery pack and are very short.

Vehicle Portable Battery Options for Keeping a Dometic CFX 40 Refrigerator Charged

To clarify, my thought was to use the lithium battery jumper only if the main battery voltage was so low that it would not start the truck. This would mean the LVD settings on the Dometic CFX cooler did not shut off power to the cooler with enough reserve on the main battery to start the truck...

Vehicle Portable Battery Options for Keeping a Dometic CFX 40 Refrigerator Charged

Thanks Whitenoise, I have already determined I need to run dedicated wiring from my battery via BlueSea fuse block on my Tacoma. I have already done this on the LX470. I plan to run the dedicated wiring on the Tacoma this weekend. Then plug in the fridge to the new power source and see how long...

Vehicle Portable Battery Options for Keeping a Dometic CFX 40 Refrigerator Charged

I checked all through the FAQ's to find an answer for what I am trying to accomplish regarding battery back-up solutions. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. While on trips, I would like a portable battery system to keep my Dometic CFX refrigerator charged when it's not...

Two Weeks on The Butterfield Overland Mail Stagecoach Trail [Anza-Borrego, California to Guadalupe Mountains, Texas]

Wow, I just came across your video and was intrigued with the title including the Butterfield Stage route. I had never heard of the route until recently when scouting out a trip to the Guadalupe National Park with my wife. We plan to drive out from Las Colinas, TX and hit a small portion of...

    Crested Bute to Aspen-Pearl Pass

UPDATE: The Aspen Parks Ranger said he thinks Pearl Pass should be open by now. He also suggested: http://bushducks.com/ just like samureye suggested.

    Crested Bute to Aspen-Pearl Pass

I was hoping to find someone who has been over Pearl Pass and knows for sure who to contact for conditions. I will check with the Rangers station. I think there is one in Carbondale.

    Crested Bute to Aspen-Pearl Pass

Has anyone driven this route/pass in early August? I'm headed to Aspen in my Tacoma Pro and have never driven on this pass. I am considering driving from Crested Butte over the pass to Aspen. I know the road is often closed due to snow covering the trail. Does anyone know how to find out if...
